    Striped Albino
I posted this guy months ago when he was hatched, but pulled the photos to maintain more control over the breeding project. Some of you may still remember him from when I posted originally :)

Of course, the animal was on a co-ownership (because we all have to learn at some point not to trust anybody with ownership or 'deals' with snakes ;)), and the person who had the animal physically, has since cut off all contact with Sound Exotics. I've been informed that the animal has been sold, without our permission, to Ralph Davis (though I have not yet received a response from Ralph to verify).

Either way, here's to hoping we get something similar from the same pairing in the future, as this little boy is a stunning snake in person :)

Yeah I saw that guy a while back and was stunned! I hope you can hatch out another one. It would be a shame if he was indeed sold. And its nice to see you postin again! :)

Thanks Andy :) Live and learn, crap like this happens, and I know now that nobody can be trusted, as much as I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt, when it comes to money and greed. Have a bunch of animals I'm bringing down to the Wilsonville show this weekend - borrowing boothspace from Raining Reptiles & South Sound Reptiles :)

Wow! I'm in the not-a-huge-albino-fan group as well, but that thing is awesome looking! It's a shame that the co-ownership went sour :( I'll send an offering to the odds gods for you in hopes for another!

I remember seeing that one. It looks like a reverse stripe. Since a tri stripe, or black back would result in a white back albino. Hopefully RDR gets back to you. If it were me, I'd at least like to know for sure who ended up with it.

Or what if its a harlequin? They often have a reverse stripe. Not exactly genetic though. I certainly hope whatever that one is, it's genetic and you make more :)

Yeah, definitely sent a message to RDR, to confirm if it is in fact in his posession, and to let him know it was not sold with permission. I don't expect much to be done, as there was no written contract - lesson learned - But I do want to know where he went to.

While I'm hopeful it proves out to be something, I honestly believe it to be a freak thing. 3 eggs hatched from that clutch: 2 Albino males, and 1 het albino female. neither of the stripe's siblings had even a hint of striping out of the ordinary, and neither parents have any sort of striping. The sire is a visual "yellow headed" albino which I understand to also be a random, uninheritable trait. He was picked up from a local breeder that needed money fast to fix his rack that had burned the snake. The het albino female/dam was picked up from a random craigslist ad, for no reason other than the fact that she was a breeder sized female, that would be ready to pair with the albino immediately out of QT.

If the stripe is inheritable, or some 'het' morph, then the heavens conspired to create him. I hope this to be true, I very much doubt it is - only time will tell :)

Well, I AM a fan of Albinos and I think that little guy is smoking hot! :D I am so sorry you had to go through this. I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for your upcoming clutches and hope that another one or two pop out. :) Thanks for sharing the pics!

I've seena lot of the Harlequins, and neither parent has any sort of striping. Don't have any details on either of their parents. I know I've posted pictures of dad somewhere on this forum, but I honestly can't remember where. I'll get them off my computer with some newer photos of the stripe (the photos posted were the day after his first shed). I have some when he was closer to 500g as well, alongside a genetic stripe.

Got a call from the person who bought the striped albino Friday evening. Snake is in excellent hands (turns out RDR does not have this animal), and we are working out a compromise considering the circumstances that I am very happy with. Honestly, it's a massive relief knowing the whereabouts of the stripe, rather than continuing on just wondering where he might be, or if he'd been sold to some dillweed that doesn't know what he's doing.

So.. more pictures eventually, I promise, just not at this moment. Recovering from the reptile show... got a couple new tarantulas (t ockerti, a diversipes) and a couple carpets from Nick Mutton (bredls and a caramel jag coastl :))

Oh,.. I remember him :) congrats on locating it and hopefully things working out and getting back on track. He was part of my inspiration for picking up this girl and adding her to an albino project down the line. Fingers crossed it turns out to be genetic.

Andy, that was an older pic :)

He was sold to Charles of Acadiana Reptile Co, a friend of Garrick DeMeyer (you can see both of them in one of Garrick's youtube videos with a killer clown, I believe). Charles sold the albino to Garrick. I've spoken to both of them on the phone and via email (paper trail), and have agreed to continue to let Garrick work with the striped albino, as he has considerably more resources than I have on hand to attempt to isolate the striped gene if it exists. I get a portion of the offspring, and the original male back, regardless of the outcome regarding the genetics.

I remember seeing this animal in person at Todd's house. We took pics with my paradox caramel albino and this guy in the same shot. I also stopped working with Todd. He was about one thing and one thing only. HIS MONEY.

I posted a pic a while ago and some guy jumped on the thread saying that I wasn't allowed to post the pic because Charles owned the animal.

I believe I met you and your fiance(?) Brad over at Todd's house one time.

This Charles guy sounds like the exact type of person I wish to avoid once I make the official leap into the snake business (which is still about 4-5 yrs away from happening).

    Anyway, very nice albino.

It reminds me of the tri-stripe albino, which made me wish I could afford a few tri-stripe snakes.

I don't believe it was Charles T. that was the person to be blamed for the sale. It was a guy called Todd that the OP was betrayed by. I used to work with him a lot as well, but as he was starting to sell of his ball pythons and purchase GTPs he started getting sketchy. As a matter of fact, the animal in my profile pic was purchased from Todd.

Here's hoping it's genetic. Are patterns often genetic? Like alien heads on normals, full strips of genetic strips, are they genetic as in if the parents have them, the kids are more likely too?

    /Newbie asking.

Well, whoever it was that initiated the sketchy deal then.

So glad he landed in good hands - I've purchased animals from Garrick and often chat with him about genetics. He's great! If all reptile breeders were like Garrick, breeder loans and co-ownerships would be commonplace. Can't wait to hear if your little albino male stirs up the albino world with a new, fun pattern morph! :D
