Well this weekend there was a "reptile swap meet" at a local herp store where i bought my Jojo and get all my feeders. My wife saw a table with deli cups with baby ball pythons and fell in love with this little boy.

Here he is stealing my wife.

That is so adorable. How did you resist the charm of the snake? It would have been very hard for me not buy such a cute little creature.

Edit: OOPS didn't read your subject, what a lovely little addition!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately he is an import but they let me watch him eat before I took him home and besides I just couldn't resist. But he is a fresh import. I hope I dont run into any problems but he looks really healty and the owner of the reptile shop gave him a check-up free of charge he listened to his heart checked all his body with a magnifying glass and checked his mouth and gave him a clean bill of health. I plan on him being around for a very long time. He does have a cool reduced patern and has tan patches on either side of his head on his upper lip. And he has lots of gold color on him. These guys only get better with age.

He needs some fattening up for sure but I like the highlighting of his pattern. It's very cool.

Such a gorgeous snake, I love 'em when they're tiny, I need to handcuff myself and have a seperate person carry my money when I'm around herps, especially the babies O.O

I'm glad hes a good eater, but since hes an import, you might want to get a fecal exam done to make sure he doesn't have any internal parasites. Good luck with your new family member! :)

    Ok I surrender!
Fecal Exam was done at the swap meet and all he found was crap. I think he might have been a farm raised baby. He is only 3 weeks old so i dont think he was exposed to other snakes long enough to carry anything but i do intend on watching him closely for any signs of external parasites i.e. ticks and mites. I plan to take a fecal sample in 3 months (end of quarantine) so make sure.

    Regurgitation caused by?
They are shipped over in huge containers full of ball pythons, so unless he was hatched here, there is an excellent chance that he has picked up parasites but they just weren't large enough to be detectable yet. Nearly 100% of imported ball pythons have parasites. That said, you can still have a good, healthy eater who lives a long life, but it's better to assume he does have parasites and go from there.

Funny how they steal our women! I'm still amazed how my GF, who totally objected to my getting a snake and initially wouldn't come within 30 feet of it, now usually runs past me to open the cage and hold the snake.

Oh yeah, and its a beauty :)
