How is Andrew Wyatt getting your info?

Did he steal the mailing list from USARK?
Did USARK sell him the information?
Are they just working together under 2 different names?

I'm not sure if any of you are members of USARK. If you are, check your email and see if USHA has sent you something. I know I have never signed up for anything with USHA, so they had to get my information from somewhere.

I have not heard back from USARK as of yet. I also can't find any type of privacy statement on their site.

Got that email and instantly wondered the same thing. Something smells here...

My prediction is that his spokesmouth, after asking Andrew, will issue a statement full of non-answers and semantics as appears to be her MO.

Reference her previous false claims to Kevin McCurley that Andrew never preemptively (in thought, allusion, or any other form) proposed BMPs in states other than NC - even though his testimony on HR2811 directly contradicts that.

Wait and see how this BS gets spun.

I have also contacted the USHA, nothing in return.

I'm not sure there will be any statement made as I'm not seeing much concern on the subject.

It's being discussed elsewhere, and most people think it's a pretty crappy way to do business.....................me included.

If USARK gave Wyatt permission to use their list - bad on them.

If Wyatt took their list and is spamming us off it - bad on him.

Not in the least. I was wondering the same thing to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I support Andrew in what he does, so I'm not angry that USHA has my info, but I am wondering who else may have it also.

I signed up for USARKs newsletter a few months back and became a member after the spilt.

I would like to know if anyone that signed up with USARK after the spilt received an email from USHA.

I would not hold my breath on getting a straight answer from Herp Alliance they already seems to master avoiding questions by answering like politicians when ask about their mailing list :rolleyes:

I too have received an email from Herp Alliance and that specific email address was provided to USARK when I first became a member and was NEVER provided to Herp Alliance.

I'm glad to see other are taking notice.

Honestly when I got that email my first thought was "how did they get my email". I assumed that I must have absentmindedly signed up for it and forgot because I was pretty sure they didn't have my email address. It appears that is probably not the case if others mysteriously received the email as well and makes me worried as to how they obtained it. :(

If our email address were so easy to get to and use for other purposes, I wonder what other info isn't safe? Hmm ...

I'm a bit shocked to see a couple people telling others it isn't a big deal. Privacy is a very big deal. Especially when those email addresses were connected to financial info when donations were given.

I would imagine that since he was the president and spokesperson for USARK since it's inception that he would have access to all the email addresses on his personal computer as he would have used it to do emailers. That being said I still don't feel it was very professional to automatically assume it was OK to email everyone as we are all officially on board with this new project. My fisrt thought is they need to get donationations and thought this would get the word out. This was not the way to go about it and I think he did more harm than good to the integrity of this new project:colbert:

Add me to the list of people who received a email. I have never contacted them or emailed them, mainly because I have not had time to poke at WHY he felt the need to leave on organization because of "differences" yet started another IDENTICAL organization that seems to mimic the first.

I am not super alarmed at getting unsolicited emails, but I do not think it is professional to take the mailing list from the place you're leaving. In fact, I think it may be illegal to do so. I do understand people who ARE alarmed, as personal information being leaked/stolen is a very big deal and can lead to a lot of fraud.

The answer implying that he did not take the list is bogus. If he can't come up with a better line of BS than that, it's no wonder he couldn't convince Congress to let us keep our pets.

Well, I guess that email from USARK explains it. Looks like Wyatt stole the email list. Classy. Real classy.

I just read a post on facebook about this... don't recall what it said

There have been a string of - at worst - lies; at best cleverly worded semantics that the new head of USHA (nee the old head of USARK) has been engaging in.

It seems that Mr. Wyatt and his new sidekick have not been paying attention to why people were frustrated with his tenure at USARK. Namely it was the offhanded way questions were handled, the often arrogant handling of people who dared disagree with his views (reference the Burm Junkies threads in which he participated) and the often casual if not intentional freedom with the facts.

FACT: Andrew Wyatt stated, in his sworn testimony on HR2811 that self imposed pre-emptive BMPs were being discussed in SC and VA could serve as a national model.

If there is a USARK board member who is discussing the Herp Alliance mailing list, or accusing Andrew, directly or indirectly of wrong doing, I have yet to see it. Enough already. You lied to Kevin and you are using USARK's old list. Before you hit the internet with a new string of slickly crafted posts that do nothing but tap dance and evade, stop and consider that the community may be a little more intelligent, a little more savvy and a little more tuned in than you are giving credit.

USHA is doing nothing but showing that a leopard is indeed incapable of changing it's spots - or at least one leopard in particular.

Dr. Booth has been more than willing to come on the forums and provide us with what answers he can. When he can't give an answer he lets us know. Members of PIJAC are starting to do the same.

But for some reason, we are still getting the same evasiveness from USHA and - for a lack of a better word - sheer arrogance that was the trademark of USARK with Wyatt at the helm.

USHA is right about one thing - this is a small community...........and we share and compare notes. Start coming correct or I predict you will be getting little more than those oh-so-valuable "likes" on facebook.

By the way, ladies and germs, it has come to my attention that USHA is deleting the Facebook posts of anyone who logs on a complaint about the unauthorized e-mails.

What a cowardly thing. You swipe USARK's list and then edit out the comments of anyone who calls you on it? Pathetic. Absolutely and utterly pathetic. You mealy mouth cowards.

Well, for the icing on the cake, I never got an email, but I never joined usark either. Something about wyatt put me off the first time I saw him and something him about always set my 'be cautious' setting to High.

So, never joined the one, never got the email from the other, even though this is such a small community and there is so much overlap.

Yeah sorry that is a load of BS! I never personally gave my email to him. He gathered up a list of emails from USARK, plain and simple.

I guess it's worth noting that I always get duplicate usark emails. I must have signed up for the newsletter on one and donated with another.

Well, I also got duplicate emails this week from wyatt. If he didn't steal the usark mailing list then I couldn't tell you where he got both of my emails from.

Apparently, this is no big deal. Last night I took a big sip of the Wyatt Fanboi Kool-Aid and am now seeing things in a whole new light.

We should all have no issue with the head of USARK leaving the organization, starting a rival organization and using USARK's mailing list to SPAM hobbyists for support (read: MONEY).

After all, USHA needs about $200K a year in donations just to cover his salary and travel expenses.

So all of you need to shut up and stop spamming his new facebook and just send in your money.

It has been very impertinent of you all to question Little Lord Wyatt-leroy's decisions and his actions. After all, no one has fought harder for our rights than him. No one has sacrificed so much for us. No one has forced more lame duck bills to expire naturally than him and no one has introduced more ground breaking BMPs than him....

The brave hero who allowed 4 of 9 species - um, wait SAVED 5 of 9 species from the Lacey Act deserves your unquestioned loyalty. Do not question his decisions, and most of all, you have no right to be infuriated that he is SPAMMING you with emails. You should be appreciative that he is sacrificing his life for your right to keep snakes. You should accept his sacrifice and praise it with Homeric and Tass-esque blog entries that extoll his handsome profile, his undaunted courage and the fact that he only makes a third of Wayne Pacelle's salary on a mere fraction of HSUS's budget.

I remember when Andrew Wyatt craftily allowed Wayne Pacelle to verbally bend him over on NPR. It was brilliant move. As Wayne skewered him, pimp-slapped him and Stooge-Fu'd him on the air, I came to the realization that the Herp Community had a rare beast fronting their fight - a real master of strategy - the Erwin Rommel of our time.

At one point, as I listened to Wyatt feebly try to argue with Wayne, I thought "Only a true leader will be able to claim some sort of victory from this embarrassing show of impotence". As Pacelle zipped up his fly and kicked Wyatt to the curb I eagerly awaited the response of the Herp Nation to this NPR Waterloo.

The next day, true to form, Our Dear Leader was back on the soapbox, with his cadre of acolytes blaming the radio host and admiring the passive and patient way that the Leader of the Herp Nation bore this verbal raping. I decided at that time that - like the mighty cockroach - we had a leader that could survive the most brutal of catastrophes, only to emerge again to proliferate and spread his word of gospell.

Hallelujah.

USHA, stop calling people who question your questionable moves spammers. If you continue to do so, you won't be able to cover the $200K a year travel and salary package for your President and I won't be able to listen to another Pacelle - Wyatt debate. It is important, if only for my amusement that you stick around long enough to have that happen.

This whole situation just sucks. I want to support the reptile hobby as much as the next person.. but this whole thing is just putting me off... I don't know who to support. Even if he did receive our emails from his "private" list like they claim, it is not okay to solicit people like this without their consent. He should know better than to take shortcuts like this.

This is Andrew Wyatt, the former president of USARK. He's asking for donations, and he's supposed to be representing us. This isn't some no name advertising company, this is someone who needs to have integrity and honesty on his side.

There is a lot of controversy and questions about what has been going on between Andrew Wyatt, Erica Walsh, USARK and myself. It's time to set the record straight. No more rumors, no more guessing. Although I don't like being the focal point of any of this, I am, and have resigned myself to this fact. So, here are the facts.

I was informed by a close friend who happens to have access to all kinds of herp related information that Erica Walsh accused me of being a pedophile. She claimed that I was arrested and convicted of this, and was incarcerated for this crime. This of course is completely false, and in fact I have never been arrested for anything in my life. Ever. I have never been accused of being a pedophile, or any other crime.

I contacted governing members of USARK and objected to being slandered, libeled and having my character defamed. At the USARK meeting on the Friday before the NARBC in Tinley, members of USARK met to discuss the accusations about me that were made by Erika Walsh being false, and her continued assistance to USARK. The USARK board was given few details to what was said but Andrew and Erika both knew the whole sorted story, that it was false, weeks before the USARK meeting. Friday afternoon Andrew Wyatt told someone during the show the same lie he knew to be false about me. This information got brought to Bob Ashley's attention Saturday night after the auction. Bob Ashley brought this to two USARK board members the next morning as well as to Brian Potter and Erika Walsh. Andrew Wyatt was asked by a USARK board member to leave the show early and go home.

I agreed with the USARK board to allow Andrew to stay on with USARK until the end of the year, allowing for him to represent our hobby and industry in Washington DC pertaining to HR511 before I filed a personal slander/libel suit against Andrew Wyatt and Erica Walsh. Once the end of the year came, Andrew "resigned" from USARK, and quickly announced his new group. I did not want to involve the board members of USARK in this lawsuit but the character of Walsh and Wyatt should be exposed.
These are all facts, are documented, have witnesses and can't be refuted.

Now for my own personal take on all this. I'm not worried about my reputation, as it is solid, and I have nothing to hide. Andrew was fired from his $80,000 a year job + traveling expenses because of saying an idiotic and untrue thing about me. He has now started a new group to directly compete for funding with USARK to regain his $80,000 a year salary I feel that Andrew Wyatt can't be trusted with our hard earned money, and our best bet is to continue to support USARK and PJAC with our funding. Andrew Wyatt is dishonest and self promoting, and is obviously not looking out for our best interests in our hobby and industry.

Now for my own personal take on all this. I'm not worried about my reputation, as it is solid, and I have nothing to hide. Andrew was fired from his $80,000 a year job + traveling expenses because of saying an idiotic and untrue thing about me. He has now started a new group to directly compete for funding with USARK to regain his $80,000 a year salary I feel that Andrew Wyatt can't be trusted with our hard earned money, and our best bet is to continue to support USARK and PJAC with our funding. Andrew Wyatt is dishonest and self promoting, and is obviously not looking out for our best interests in our hobby and industry.

Recap:
