What should I add this year?
Okay, in February I'm going to have around $3,000 to invest into a couple more animals and some more equipment. I'm also saving money each month to go toward my snakes but for all intents I'm not going to count it here. I know I need another rack and a better thermostat so that's nearly $500. What should I get with the remaining $2500? I REALLY like Lavender Albino, Pied, and Enchi. My dream snake is a Butter Spider Super Enchi so Enchi is pretty important for my breeding plans. I'm almost certain I want to add a Lavender Albino. They had a female at the Atl Repticon for $1750, so I'm planning on going back in April to see if I can find one. Or I may contact the breeder to see if she's still available. So theoretically, if I AM able to snag one for such a pretty price, what should I get with the remaining $750? I could get a female Pied or I could get a really nice female Enchi and save the remaining $150. So what say you? I like to ask you all because so many of you have better ideas and thought processes than I do. So far I haven't found a female Enchi that fits my qualifications. I'm adding a female Pastel next month, also.

My vote would be a butter or pied, I am not a huge fan of butters but if they are pared with anything else their babes are amazing! I really like butter spider orange ghost and butter pastels... oh and butter etchis!

If your ultimate goal is to produce a Super Enchi Butterbee, why not focus on that? You could pick up a pair of snakes for around $2000 give or take that would produce such an animal. Something like a Butter Enchi male and a Stingerbee female, or some other combination of the 2 genes. I would get that project taken care of, then get a Pied, or save more for a Lavender.

Looking at your list now, just a Butter Enchi male and an Enchi female could work too. Breed the Butter Enchi to your Spider, hope you hit the triple Butter Enchi Spider male, then breed it to the Enchi. Though I would probably still do the Butter Enchi and Stingerbee over that scenario.

^IKR? I saw a picture of one and my jaw hit the floor!!!

I found a Butter Enchi female for sale for $1750. I think I'm going to go for her (if she'll still be available in Feb...praying!) and that will give me some time to find a Stingerbee. How much would a Stingerbee run me? I can't find any for sale.

There is a Stingerbee on Kingsnake for $1150 right this second!

Just a thought, contact those breeders that you had mentioned and ASK them what else they have available. We breeders are SOOO BAD about not listing everything for sale. And a breeder would probably give you a great deal if you could pick up both snakes from one person ;)

I found a male stinger bee het ghost (!!!) on another site for $800 which is only $50 over my budget!!! Do you think I should go ahead and contact them even though I have nothing I can put down right now? January is always a tough month financially for me and I don't even have a down payment to hold them for 3 weeks until I get the rest of the money!

Heavily depends on quality. I've seen male stingers for $700, all the way up to 1200.

If it's an excellent example of a stinger, go for it. Here's my stinger, and I paid a fair price for such quality..

Steve Winkler has a female and 2 males available right now. Would you mind hopping over there and looking at them for me? The top male looks good (IMO but I'm still learning about what to look for in certain morphs. It took me a while to figure Enchis out.)

HGM2? Oh yeah. He's got a lot of features I love. Spiders can be really golden, and so can enchis. When you get a super gold stingerbee, you got gold... The reduced pattern is also a must. HDM2 is really nice :gj:. Enchis are tough, and can still be tough to determine quality at a young age. They really do get better with age though :gj:. My enchi lesser still wows me after every shed, and my I enjoy taking the enchi out and just letting her slither around :D.

There's another one available from a user on here I'm waiting to see pics of. Thanks for looking for me! This is so exciting...Both of the ones I'm looking at right now are hot. The Butter Enchi is by Constrictors Unlimited. She has a couple of spots but I think she looks good.

You'd probably be looking at things being a bit cheaper if you picked up the Butter Enchi male and Stingerbee female, plus breeding potential for a Butter Enchi male would be higher. If you don't have anything to put down, I'd wait until its time to buy to start contacting people. Just makes it easier on everyone.

I just found an even hotter stinger bee male so I'm trying to work that out right now! Either way it's fine. I'll work them into my breeding plans somehow or another!

So now I'm torn. This male I found is $200 over what I originally wanted to spend...he is freaking HOT like OMG you would not believe...I want him so badly...should I go for him and save up what I'd lack to get the Butter Enchi? I get what you all are saying about switching the male and female but I don't think you quite understand the ramifications of your statement when held up against the snake in question. I really think I'd have a hard time finding another Stinger Bee as hot as this one. He's worth the money and is absolutely perfect. hOOblah, if I get him I dare say you might be jealous!!!

Haha good points! I wouldn't mind letting butters try to work his magic on your bee :O

When will we see pics of this mythical stinger?!? I have a feeling I know which it is ;):D!!

What should I be looking for in a Butter Enchi? Is that also called a Bunchi? http://pythonregius.com/enchibutterballpython12f2.aspx This is the one I'm looking at. What do you think?

Here's h00blahs, he's hot. He's enchi lesser, not butter I believe. For all that matters... (Hope you don't mind I linked him for you h00blah:))

Wow! He is hot! So would you say that the link I provided is a good example of said morph or should I look elsewhere? I really like butters. I like lessers, too, and will add that into my collection at some point but for now I'm looking for butter.

Wouldn't it be more prudent of me to add 2 females instead of a male and a female? I know that I need the two morphs to make my Butter Spider Super Enchi, but I really feel like I want another female to start growing up. I can always save for a male and get one next year.

Looks pretty nice. Nice clean pattern. Could be the pictures, but h00blahs was much more vibrant yellow as a baby than that. There doesn't seem to be a lot of them out there to choose from right now.

I like his organized pattern and high contrast.

Here's a post shed pic when he was a youngin.

The one you linked is nice but i prefer contrast. The top half of butters is nice and brown, the lower half is white. The floaty aliens on his side are all yellow, and all those colors combined WOW'd me :gj:. Also, lessers are the same as butters, so there's no point to limiting your search :gj:.
