I will be doing the very effective NIX lice shampoo treatment.

Should have them gone in no time!!!

She isnt even close to my snake rack and I have no interacted with my snakes at all today so they should not have come in contact with any mites but of course I will still be treating the whole rack.

Same here every new snake gets a nice spray with reptile spray mite killer. Has saved one mite outbreak in my quarantine rack.

Lol I think she means from your establishes snakes.

Yeah, you learn the hard way. I got a snake at a show and she came home witha few mites. Two treatments of PAM and I haven't seen a mite since!

I now PAM all enclosures that I put a new snake in. I don't care where it came from. Prevention is key!

There the QT tub has been sprayed and rinsed and spray again (with new paper towel and hide in it) with the NIX solution.

    All mites died on contact.

Made sure to get every little crease and everything.

While I was doing this she was getting a warm water soak with a bit of the NIX solution in the water.

Just as a pre caution do I spray my other snakes down as well??? Like take out water dishes for 24hrs and spray down their tubs and them???

There's ZERO reason to soak the snake or spray it down with anything.
All you need to do is use bedding spray or PAM as directed, nix head lice shampoo works but isn't necessary at all.

Spraying the tub and the paper towels and allowing them to dry is all you need to do to treat.
Well that and spraying the surrounding area, I'm not sure why you are spraying anything on the snake, especially permethrin which IMO should never be done.

They should be soaked in water with a bit of dawn dish soap, right?

There is no reason to soak the snake at all.

I've treated numerous collections and have not needed to soak a snake to rid the collections of mites.
The treated paper towel and the treated tub is all that's necessary to treat, the bugs will literally fall off the snake over the first few days after the initial treatment.
After the 2nd treatment the rest fall off and die and by the 3rd treatment there is no live bugs.

There's no need or reason to use soaps or oils or anything other than permethrin on the tub and the paper towels.
