I'm so tired of people on here being rude to new members that are seeking advice. No matter how ignorant that person is, they were smart enough to come here and they should be welcomed and not criticized for doing something wrong. At least teach these people how to properly care for their snakes before you drive them away!!

I do agree with you. The problem is that most of the members here have seen the same question a 1000 times, and just lose patients. Personally I would rather answer the same question over and over again to try and help, but that is just me.

Also on the flip side to that, sarcasm is hard to read in text AND a lot of new people don't want to take advice on what or how it works.
I am more than willing to help anyone but if I get attitude in return then they can look else where too.:gj:

That's what happens 99% of the time when someone leaves with a bad experience here.

I can understand if they give you attitude, but if they're playing nice and just want to learn and get some help, and then someone spouts off something unfriendly to them just because of a mistake they made, and in no way because of their attitude towards other members, that is inappropriate IMO. If you are going to help someone, help them, but if you have nothing beneficial to say, then why not just not say anything?

Its called the internet. If you dont like it then dont go there. I hate horses; therefore, i avoid any equine facilities.

With that said, this is definitely one of the friendly sites ive seen out there. So im kinda surprised to see this kind of a thread. Imo, Our mods and admins do an excellent job keeping everything under control! :)

I'm not too worried about the people, more worried about the herps that are being mistreated by ignorant people! :) Obviously not trying to trash the site, as everyone's been friendly to me, but I hate thinking about animals being mistreated.

EDIT: Upon re-reading that first post I did seem a bit snarky, but I do love this site, I think that overall everything is great, the mods and admins are fantastic, but every once in a while I see someone post a direct blow to someone that has nothing to do with reptiles, just because they made a mistake and they came here for help. That makes me fume a bit because I'm the kind of person that would rather help someone for the animal's sake.

Recently I was talking to an uncle of mine and he mentioned that no matter the forum or interest your always gonna have people who are gonna act impolite to newcomers of the trade and pastime but I gotta say. Since I've gotten into snakes people like you all are... a lot more chill than people in other hobbies. Maybe it's just me but that's what I've noticed.

Right now, I think just the deletion of that troll thread will calm everyone down. It turning into nothing but fights.

You don't really have any proof that it was a troll thread.

Did not appear to be a troll to me and I'm constantly running trolldar 2.0 in my back memory.

Well I'm not sure it was a troll thread either, I was just going off what other people said and I didn't know how exactly to refer to it. :confuzd:
