Ok I've kept balls, retics and Burms for a long time and I am thinking once my snake building is done of adding another project and I was wondering what everyone thinks? I like bloods, chondro, and boas let me know what my next project should be!

Only thing I don't like about carpets is how people cross them so much

But easy enough to find breeders who don't...

I've recently been becoming a huge fan of woma and blackhead pythons.

I agree I've been looking at different places that have true blood ones. I do notice alot of crosses and my first is a coastal mutt but I loves her haha

I am working with boas and am extremely happy with their progression. I am going to be adding a pair of Angolan pythons to my collection this year if all goes well. Chondros are wonderful and my Hunter is one of my very favorite snakes. But after talking to his breeder, I don't know if breeding them is for me - baby chondros can be very difficult to start feeding and can be quite delicate. Of course, what one considers delicate, another might find quite hardy - it's all a matter of perspective. Blackheaded pythons are awesome and much like womas. I prefer the blackheads. But you have to be prepared to have a very large python (some get bigger than the average BCI) and feed them a variety - rodents supplimented with chicks and even fish.

Just based on the little you mentioned in your original post, I would suggest bloods for you. Seems a logical step with what you've kept in the past and there's a huge variety in their colors and patterns. Just a thought! ;)

As someone who has a blood and 2 chondros... Bloods and chondros!

Have you looked at amazon tree boas at all? They have some awesome color varieties, stay relatively small, and are just a pleasure to work with. I love my two little noodly snakes!

I'd love to see people working with more Liasis, very cool genus. Blackheads are very interesting as well. Cribos can make pretty impressive colubrids too

I love emeralds! They are beautiful I might just end up picking up a pair of bloods, emeralds and chondros and see how they work out I don't mind big snakes at all I love my retics I just don't want something difficult to care for or to breed my wife does Leo's and beardies and me being a snake keeper for so long it's hard for me to remember to feed insects lol that's y there her projects and not mine

I'm not a colubrid person either my brother does corns I love constrictors the most of all! I just hate how corns are so small out of the egg and how hard it is sometimes to get them to eat

Yeah, they are. Perfect size, colorful and great dispositions.

Desert, we got to get you hooked up with at least 1 pair of BHPs. I think you'll really appreciate them.

Thanks Derek, for the thought. However, my preference for woma pythons is a qualified preference.

Sorry, yikes that wasn't very clear was it. I meant I prefer woma pythons, but my preference is not based on lack of exposure to Black heads. Did I bungle that one up too? hahah

A great reason to be someone to do some projects that specialize in maintaining subspecies-specific lines!

I'm not sure about morphs but there are a couple locals and a couple different phases(that slip my mind at the moment)

I'll throw a snake out there, what about a annulated tree boa? arboreal and a boa that doesn't get big and I have heard that they have a pretty laid back attitude, but they are a bit on the pricey side compared to other tree boas.

Yea I've been doing alot of research and I am really leaning towards womas, gtp,or emerald boas and maybe a pair or bloods but we will see how it all works out once I get my building finished :( wish I had more time and money to get it rolling
