Yeah, but on the brighter side, "Cialis is here!"

I hate that commercial. And the Levitra deal. The thought that "Iron Mike Ditka" needs a little help sends chills up my spine. AAAAHHHHHH!!!!!

When taking Cialis it is not normal to have an erection for three hours but if you do, talk to your doctor!! HAHAHAHAHA! I love that part of the commercial! It's like REALLY? Having an erection for three straight hours is abnormal?? How odd, i never would have guessed that the pain in my prostate was something bad...

WARNING: A small percentage of people who read this thread may experience certain side effects like rectal bleeding and sudden death. But a similar percentage had the same side effects while reading a placebo thread.

Yeah, gotta get me some of those side effects. You'll grow hair on your head, but you may have a stroke and lose 3 digits. Sign me up for that!

Holy lord Steelsack I know EXACTLY the ad campaign you are talking about - Dominoes isn't doing real good ads either... i swear there was a time when ads were clever, cute or mildly humorous.. interesting that it's mostly beer ads hahahaha.
  • 04-28-2004, 08:30 PM
The Miller ads about the President of Beers are pretty funny......plus those weirdo Quizno's Subs ads are hilarious, lol.

I'm with Ken on the lists of side effects I love the fact that they're selling hair loss treatment that may cause erectile dysfunction, explosive diarrhea, and a burning sensation in the kidneys, or some such list that sounds much worse than a little baldness. And on the local side, Atlantans scream when we hear the sing-songy "Look, look, lookie! Here comes Cookie! Cook's Pest Control."

What I think is hilarious is the inuendo in the levitra commercials. The old guy throwing a football thru an old tire  Gee wonder what thats supposed to insinuate.

And Sassafras can attest that here in St. Louis we have one of the most annoying series of radio commercials. It is a mortgage co. and the guy has the most nasal voice you have ever heard. pretty much the whole commercial is him shouting the phone number 878-9999.

Kinda one of those things you have to hear to believe though.

I've heard that radio ad before...or one like it. VERY annoying. And I won't ever buy a Quizno's sub because their ads are so bad. It's like they're TRYing to drive away an entire (and very large) demographic.

GAH! I HATE that guy! The other one that drives me insane is Tom Shane. His commercial makes me wanna go smack him. Maybe because I work for a jeweler...but talk about an annoying voice....

You guys have those daytime attorney commercials where you live? I seen them in michigan when i was up there and came down here to georgia and seen the same thing but a different attorney. They have that actor guy doing the comercial. "Tell the insurance companies, YOU MEAN BUSINESS, call....(insert attorney name here)" LMAO. I guess they sell those comercials to attorneys. Thats so funny

You have Tom Shane too? I've hated Tom Shane since 1983 and now my kids do too! They can recite the entire commercial, including store hours and locations. "Now YOU have a friend in the diamond business."

Now you have a friend in the diamond business in Brentwood at the intersection of I-170 and Highway 40 open Monday thru Friday till 8:00 and Saturday & Sunday till 5:00 also available online at shaneco.com

I can do the voice perfectly too. It's a gift

Oi! I never listen to more than the first second or so of Shane Co commercials anymore, but my kids can definitely recite the whole thing "in Alpharetta, Morrow, Kennesaw, Duluth, and Marietta. Open Monday through Friday til 8 and Saturday and Sunday til 5." It used to be "on the 7th floor of Tower Place" twenty years ago, though. :)

Of all the slimy lawyer ads I've seen (and I realize not ALL lawyers are slimy) on TV, the one that I couldn't help but take notice of was when I moved to DC and saw the (in)famous John Cochran doing personal injury ads! Oh how the mighty have fallen!

Hey, Jonah......if you have any pull with those Quizno's commercials, you might let them know that I have NOT tried Quiznos specifically because I haven't been able to figure out WTH those creatures are, and if there are any on their sandwiches! Talk about annoying!!!!

Heh -- I hate the Quizno's commercials, too, but their sandwiches are too good to boycott them over that. Specifically, the turkey guac on focaccia rocks my world! Mmmm. I'm glad they opened here months before the commercials started airing.

I have to say though that my all time favorite side effect would have to be anal leakage! How insane would that be!!??

Ok really gross story but hey it was brought up. Where I used to work (call center) there was a guy who had the leakage supposedly even brought in a note from his doctor for it.

Well every day he brought in the SAME EXACT UNWASHED towel to put on his seat for work. That combined with the fact that he had a penchant for not bathing it was nasty nasty stuff. He earned all kinds of nicknames there Captain Poopalot all those kinds of things.

It's one thing to actually have a medical condition but to not properly take care of yourself and your accesseries (towel) is really not a good thing let alone if you have to sit next to someone like that.

That's extremely disgusting...and even more unsanitary! Can't believe they would let someone get away with that for any length of time. YUCK! :shudder:

I wouldn't house a cockroach in those conditions haha. Sorry, I don't have any pull with Quizno's just know some marketing think tank guys that came up with those fuzzy things. I HATE Quizno's ads.. it sucks because before they started advertising i went in there relatively often the sandwiches are quite delicious but not worth supporting their horrible marketing... don't get me started on Old Navy......

LOL....we have the Tom Shane commercials here in Louisville as well. Hes like Ben Stein, his voice makes me wanna go to sleep, lol.

There also a local sausage company that makes the suckiest commercials ever. Then theres a local muffler shop called Dad' Muffler Shop and the motto is "Theres no muff too tuff!" LMAO

I like that no muff to tuff LOL. Reminds me off a foundation company we have here they all have the company logo on the side of the vans/trucks that says "A dry crack is a happy crack".

How bout the purple pill called nexxium? It took weeks before tey ever listed what the pill was for. If you ask people what it is for, they'll tell you they are not sure, but they've seen the add. The was one on the radio that said so and so is sitting in her purple chair at her purple desk getting ready to dial the purple numbers on her purple phone and ask about the pruple pill called nexxium, or something to that effect and if you'd like to learn more about the purple pill called nexxium dial 1-800-purple pill or visit our website at purple pill dot com. AGH If I hear one more time about it I will scream until I am purple.

::laments:: no one brought up the Taco Bell Chiuahuah!

Don't you guys know? All the drug companies are united in a force of evil, to convince us that we are all overweight, depressed, sexually deficient, etc. I just love those weight-loss-pill commercials where they say "not for people under ten pounds overweight." what happened to exercising and eating healthy? Sigh.
