I used to not be fond of bloods. Never saw any that were very pretty to me...until I became a member here, and started seeing your posts. Jeez louise! Those are jawdropping! :O Thank you for showing me bloods are crazy beautiful :)

Thanks so much, everyone!! It's really turning out to be an exciting season over here, with lots to look forward to come spring/summer.

Tiffany - I'm glad the pics helped you to see bloods a bit differently. They really are awesome snakes, and this project in particular is one near and dear to my heart. Thank you for being open minded about the bloods...hope you are able to have a great experience with them someday.

    :)

    Wow, stunning!

I would like to own a blood someday. I've just heard mixed opinions on temperament. They sure are magnificent creatures, though.

Tori, selectively-bred animals that are handled routinely and gently from the time they are young are pretty easy to tame. Some bloodlines are more high strung than others, but for the most part their reputation is largely undeserved.

First up wow!! Those are some stunning bloods!! Very very nice congrats. It has been close to 15 years since I've personally kept bloods and at that time most of the available speciemens were wild caught and in my experience were very deserving of there bad reputations. But just like retics and many other species, with all the generations of captive breeding most of those species with the bad reps have become much more docile and trust worthy captives.
