Most Carpets is the US are mutts one way or another. Without knowing the bloodline, you'll never know.
With that said...
I would go with Coastal but somewhere down the line there might be some Jungle. Carpets are awesome!!
-
K I was wondering cuz if it is a girl and I get feeling comfortable with ball breeding in next couple years I wanted to try with carpets too just wanted to wonder what everyone thought she may be for future pairing plaining lol not going to lie they are so fun to handle once I let her down on something she's gone lucky my trailer is small with no holes so she just goes around the living room
-
i agree with 3skulls. looks to be mostly coastal. no matter what she is, she is a bad arse. i have quickly fallen in love with carpets. congrats on a beautiful snake, man.
-
Thank you I fast fell in love with this girl just fun to handle. Once I get a for sure sex I'm gonna talk with my buddy and pick out the brightest partner for her see if i can get bright yellows most likely another costal mutt.

Does it k hmm gots to rethink maybe

Bright yellow = good jungle but the wild jungle type coloration is brown. Yellows are a result of captive breeding in jungles. This guys striping and over all body appearance keeps me on coastal but don't consider it a pure without papers. Too many mutts out there.
-
I'd also say Jungle Coastal mix. Might be a jag sib but, who knows.
The head pattern is completely jungle looking (true coastals outside of jungle integration zones) don't have solid head patterns. They will either be faded, clear pattern (outlined) or no head pattern at all.

It's a shag carpet, from psychedelic region lol :D
That's a hot lookin snake sir!

3skulls those are some nice carpets that costal jag is sweet as well as the diamond x jungle. Idk if either of those would mix with mine but very pretty. I've already redrew my snake/rat room design to include another carpet sized cage. Haha hmmm I want this room done so I can start adding!! Jeez planing took awhile now construction hits road blocks cuz of money at least I can drool over everyone else's snakes on here and day dream of being done

Thank you Sir!
Just wanted to give you a known to compare to.
Better leave some room for a few more Carpets. 2 is never enough :p

Here are some shots of locale Carpets (in Australia).
Some of these are rescue animals, others...just wild photographed...and, a couple captives from known wild caught lines.
Coastals...

You can see the characteristics of the "Rainforest" (Jungle) phase and "Coastal" phase animals.
Because "Jungles" and 'coastals" are basically genetically the same, I distinguish them by head markings.
The solid black head pattern is seen as you move into "rainforest" areas. As you get out into the flatlands and coastal regions, you will see the head pattern gradually fade or become absent all together. Pretty much wherever there is canopy, you will see more developed head patterns.
I personally, don't agree with the term Jungle carpet as it is a false referral of what we've seen in books for years and, not what actually exists in the wild.
"Jungles" can and do come in just as much variability in color and pattern as "Coastals" and vice versa.
Hope it helps,
Cheers,
D

Awesome post Derek!!
I would love to be able to study Carpets in the wild.
Thanks for getting this info out there.
Would love to see more pics and examples of head patterns.

Re: What kind of carpet?
No worries,
I'm no expert on them but, I have been to Australia enough times to recognize some of the different forms. Mostly in captive populations there but, a few in the field as well.
I keep mostly Black Headed Pythons these days but, I do love my Carpets and still keep a few around! Haha.
Cheers,
D

@the OP:
No one will be able to look at your animal and tell you for sure whether it is coastal, jungle, or an intergrade.
To my eyes, it looks pretty convincingly an intergrade, but there is no way I can know for sure.
I do not recommend breeding carpet pythons that have a completely unknown lineage, but that's just me.
