I am setting up two (2) Vision V221 tanks- What's the best Thermostat???
I am going to require two (2) probes and would love to control day/night temperatures as well as lighting....

Also, anybody have a solution for humidity control for two tanks simultaneously? I see the repti-fogger but not sure how it could be rigged for two tanks.

    Please help.

The herpstat 2 has 2 probes and has night drop functionality (though night drops really aren't necessary or recommended for BP's outside of breeding)

The herpstat 4 has 4 probes, can control lighting and humidity (humidity requires an additional accessory) and has nigh drop functionality as well.

Herpstats are the best thermostats on the market by far right now. I use them exclusively with my cages.

Thank you!! I was just looking at Herpstat 2.... So for both tanks I can control Lighting and RHP's with the Herpstat 2???

    I appreciate your help.

The herpstat 2 can control 2 things: 2 heat sources or 1 heat source & 1 light (you can plug both lights into 1 channel with a power strip)

The herpstat 4 can control 4 things which I think is more what you are looking for.

Another vote for herpstats. You would need the herp4 for lighting and heating in both. You need a probe for each zone you want to control. I'm not positive how this works with lighting though, I've never used mine for lighting.

Lighting is software controlled no probes needed, just plug the light into the correct outlet on the back then set the channel to one of the lighting modes and program the on/off/dimming settings as desired.

This thread has been great.....Herpstat 4 sounds like what I need....I would need an extra probe though. I didn't see a place to purchase accessories on the Syder-Robotics site.

    Thoughts....again thank you!

It comes with 4 temperature probes.

If you need the humidity probe it can be purchased here:

Thank you!! Hugely helpful....you are a wealth of info so I am going to keep asking questions..... What are your thoughts re: Humidity and trying to set up a fogger/mister for each tank??? My humidity levels are pretty low right now and I continuously have to mist the tanks. Can't seem to find a humidifying solution.

I'm not sure what vision cages are like, but my PVC cage doesn't need to be misted to keep it at 51%.

Generally speaking these types of cages don't need any thing to keep humidity in them but if you do I would suggest a misting system over a reptifogger. You could use the same system for both cages

So you would have a herpstat 4 set up as follows:

    channel 1: RHP #1
    channel 2: RHP #2
    channel 3: Misting System
    channel 4: lights

Here is a website that sells misting systems:

    http://www.mistking.com

A misting system will cost more than reptifoggers but they will last longer and be more versatile.

My BP's are still in glass tanks... My V221's are en route and I am trying toget everything set-up prior to. That explains my confusion re: Humidity as the current set up with screen tops can't hold any humidity.

i will still look into the Misters but might try to start without them to see how things go.

    Thank You!!

    Loving this forum :)

If its just bps, I don't see why you'd need a mister.

I use reptile bark in my enclosure and have a humidity of 51% at all times.
