Depends on how serious you wanna get. I've heard of running warm water on them, using a hairdryer, rubbing alcohol (I think you put it on their nose, can't remember how that one works), bend their tail backwards... Those are the most common ones I see people mention.

I keep a spray bottle of water in my snake room. They usually loosen up and let go when sprayed.

I say stop, no or get off and they usually do then sit infront of me staring at me like what did I do?
Jk warm Water, alcohol, or the good old fashion manually.

When I read the title without clicking on the thread, my first tought was you were purchasing a snake to relase into the wild. Funny how differently the written word can be interpreted

Water in their face/mouth worked for both.

I don't know what would work on a big Retic or Burm.

I use listerine. It's worked both times I got latched onto.

Water seems to work with just about any snake that won't let go of me. I have heard of the listerine thing, never have any around.

listerine has thymol in it, this is in the phenol family (most ol ending antibacterial products are like lysOL containing p-Chloro-o-benzylphenol) Phenols (like thoes found in cedar woods) has a strong impact on reptiles and fish. FYI

the one time I had a large adult ball consume my thumb and keep pushing forward, I brought her to the sink and ran water over the thumb. She let go nearly instantly and backed off. I've heard you can also fill the sink with water and hold their head under, but I don't feel that would be needed if just running the bite spot under water usually works.

Running water over them works. I will say from experience that a big retic will let go, but the water had to be cold and she was under it for a few minutes before she let go. Luckily I was in the bathtub because once she let go the blood started putting out. But water works well.
