Spider or pinstripe? Help ID my new baby :)
    http://s1336.beta.photobucket.com/us...tml?sort=3&o=0Hi all,
I just picked up a ball at a reptile show today. It was sold to me as a spider, but after I purchased him, I was told by 2 other people that he was in fact a pinstripe. It's been ages since I've had a BP, and honestly I'm not super concerned if he turns out to be a different morph, I don't plan on breeding him. I just want to satisfy my curiosity.

Sorry I'm new to this! Is there a way to embed pics or can you only post links?

When you press 'Reply to Thread' look for the picture image on the middle bar under 'font' and 'size'. It says 'Insert image' when you mouse over it. Then put the url of your image into the space that shows up and it should show up on the thread

Absolutely a pinstripe. And from what I can see, a really pretty one. Though it's a bit busy for my tastes. What can I say, I'm a reduced pattern kind of girl. ;)

Thank you all for all your expertise!!! I'm totally loving him. He's super tame and seems to be adjusting well  Plus I got a pretty sweet deal on him- only 100 bucks

Thanks again for all the input!! Its nice to have some clarification. I was a little unsure when the guy was showing his 'spider', but it had been so long since I'd had a ball that I figured as a breeder, he must know what he's talking about. Either way, I'm pleased with my purchase; he's healthy, happy and all mine lol. Toby just ate his first meal :D Took it like a champ!!! I always stress out about first feelings but he's doing great. It's so good to have a BP again :P

AM I the only one concerned about a breeder selling a snake as one morph when it is so obviously another? At a reptile show, no less?

There is no mistaking that as a Pinstripe, and any "breeder" who confuses them should stop breeding and selling snakes immediately.

Yeah, I've definitely been questioning the ethics of the guy I bought him from. I brought your point up with my BF and he seems to think the guy wasn't a breeder, he was just selling at the show. But I clearly remember him saying he had over 600 snakes when he started traveling with the show. Even if he wasn't a breeder, with that many critters one would think he would be able correctly identify what morphs HE was selling. I wish I had brushed up on morphs before the show so I could've pressed him for some answers, but I honestly wasn't planning on walking home with anything (go figure!!).

Good to see I'm not the only one!! Never bring your debit card to Repticon lol. I just picked up a 4x2x2 tank for when he's bigger. So OF COURSE I'm going to need another ball to fill his empty tank when the time comes

Very nice pin! I too am disturbed by a breeder not knowing what he's selling. Spiders and pinstripes are so obviously different to me I don't understand mixing them up. And yes, empty tank syndrome. It's like money in your pocket and will burn your eyes until you fill it with something!
