Finally made up my mind!!!

So I was thinking of getting a Yellow anaconda for xmas, but, I have 2 issues; 1)I do not have something to put it in when it gets HUGE and 2)I cannot find a local or even a Florida breeder if I did have something big enough.....

So that being said, I am settling on a Nicaraguan Boa, found a sweet looking one on BHB Reptiles, about to order it today, and have it shipped out Monday, IF it's not too cold that day. I heard these little guys are aggressive, so I changed my mind AGAIN lmao......

I started looking into good boas for pets rather than concentrating on looks and the Dumerils looks awesome, heard nothing but good about temperament!!!!

So I found some on kingsnake and hopefully we can go with them instead of the Nicaraguan boa!! I will be happy either way obviously, but yeah!

I've only had my dumerils for a few months and already picked up 2 more sub adults they have all of the pros and none of the cons that I can see. Very heavy bodied as adults only getting 6 to 7 feet and puppy dog tame off the rip. They do feed with gusto however but that can be said about some individuals of any species. They have already become my favorite snakes to handle. Good luck on what ever you choose.

Def going dumerils, I have been reading since shortly before that last reply, and that's what I'm looking for. Puppy dog temperament, nice thick adult size. So lets just hope the person getting this for me didn't order the 1st one already lol

Yup, just talked to the person paying for the gift, and we are going to order it tomorrow!!! Gonna record a video of the package opening. Will be my 1st shipped animal ever, so I'm also excited about that!!!

your going to love it. i have had mine now for 7 weeks. It took her a second to eat but so far so good. growing pretty well already too. she is 22 inches and already taking down large mice. going to try a weened rat next week. post pictures.

Note: I have seen some massive Dumeril's in the lengths of 9-10' in captivity. They are very sweet and tame snakes, but they do not max out at 6-7'. Make sure you are aware!

Also, Nics are not terribly aggressive. I've worked with them in the past to help a pet shop out who was blind to their care, and they were absolutely non-agressive little worms. But when it comes to boa's I'm a Dumeril's fan all the way.

Well either way I'm glad to get the dum, ordering it today, my momma gonna let me know when it's done. SHOULD be here Tuesday!!!!
