I like it because it's active, friendly, and full of information. I prefer this forum to others I'm also a member of because generally it's more welcoming and open-armed to newbies and full of great people :) That, and it was the first one I joined for BPs.

    I lurve you guys! :grouphug:

I like forums because of the knowledge you can gain from people with first hand experience. You can get multiple answers (different approaches) to doing something and achieve the same ending result. You can share your failures and successes and get feedback.

I like this forum over most others because of the people here. Almost everyone here is friendly, the mods are fair, and I can share all my hobbies and at least one person on here will share that interest genuinely. Not just "oh that's nice" type of reply.

Now I am a member of a few other forums that I like equally to this one. One is for arachnids the other is for chickens. Both of which are Very helpful in their own regard. The only downside I have found to the chicken forum is it is hard to share my love of reptiles and Ts with out getting that's weird or gross. But other than that they are extremely friendly.

    This ^^

Emphasis on the friendly. While we have our trolls we have great mods to keep things in order. Most other forums are a kind of free for all. This is really the only forum I actively visit because of that.

Some good info here and it's tapatalk / iPhone friendly.

These are my thoughts as well. It was also the first site I was referred to 3 years ago when I got my first BP.

I also like how the site is constructed and the features that are available too.

I like this forum better than most because of the friendly atmosphere, lots of honest feed back with minimal judgement. Also because there isn't any restrictions on what email account you can or can't use and be a member with. There are certain forums that won't let you be a member with certain email servers. I also recommend this site when I sell a baby or if I give advice so they can get a variety of info and opinions. On the occasion I visit another forum I do so as a guest and don't bother signing up. I have yet to find one that I prefer.

There are a couple of forums I've seen that seem chalk full of noobs asking extremely noobish questions. Now I'm all for helping a noob out but there is a line. This forum is also very busy. Someone always has an answer for ya. I like that. Also it's cool to talk reptiles and snakes with people who know terms like "het" or "clutch". It's refreshing.

The people and general friendly and informative atmosphere are definitely the big things for me here. Also the slightly macabre humor that seems to go along with being a snake person ;P I only even regularly visit one other herp forum/website, and that's mostly because I know a lot of those people in person.

The people here are so awesome that they can even occasionally turn trolls back into real people! XD

I feel like its a friendlier forum for beginners and while I have joined a couple other forums I rarely visit them. I like the people here better and I like seeing the progress folks have been making, the new snakes they get, the information.... Even though I really havent been here that long. :)

Most of the people on here are pretty courteous, even when disagreeing. I've seen people get heated with each other in one thread and then the next day, they're chummin' up in another thread. So far, it seems like a no-hard-feelings kind of environment. Everyone has a great sense of humor without being in-your-face mean to each other. When you have a BP related question or concern, people don't generally start chiming in with off the wall crap just to hear themselves...type. There's a lot of , "I'm not sure, send a PM to ________, he will know." Everyone is just really helpful in any way they can be, even if they can't always tell you what you need to know.

And I like the dancing bananas

I like talking to people that appreciate reptiles just as much as I do. I don't know anyone in "real life" that can go at it for hours like you guys can ;)
The fact that we all get along for the most part, can talk about non-reptile things and make each other laugh occasionally is all just a bonus :)

I like this forum because it is by far one of the best sources of information and ways to connect with other in the hobby, it's full of like-minded people, and the people are so friendly. It's a fun forum and with a lot of the regulars it feels like a family :D

I like the yard here. I spend a lot of time hanging out in the grass. There was talk of putting a pond in out back and maybe even planting a tree or two, which would be nice in the summer when it's really hot, but these things take time. Heck, I be most of you didn't even notice when the picket fence got a new coat of paint this fall.

Most other places are very two dimensional and full of flat people, not the well rounded three dimensional individuals you find hanging out around here.

Re: Why do you like this forum?
I like this forum especially because it is active and friendly. There seem to always be new messages, and I have yet to see intentional antagonism (granted I am still a fairly new member). I have joined a few other reptile forums which I rarely visit because they either aren't very active, or there are some very antagonistic members and it really isn't worth my time having to wade through that.

The people make or break a forum and obviously you can see this one took off. The forum itself is ahead of other forums, i can do 50 posts per page, simple yet huge time saver. I can also input anything that's not a security flaw, table and video tags for example.

I love the crowd! And there's a variety, with enough activity and plenty of new people pouring in that it stays interesting around here. Definitely have our own drama events and "troll" gets thrown around here a lot, but our mods and admins are super, super awesome. I also have my mental list of usernames that I sort of scan for in most recent threads just because they consistently post either great information or act as voices of reason when the drama fests turn into trench warfare.

And no matter what herp or invert I want to keep or bring home, I know I can always come here for a point in the right direction, if not some first hand accounts or information :)

Sooo... I think I thought of a great benefit: Mike, you should probably mail me some really good cookies. You'll probably later on want to learn how to make homemade beef jerky and mail that too, that sounds pretty beneficial... maybe some fudge too. Yep, I like the sound of those benefits.
