13g het caramel hatchling(update)
Despite going blue, never managed to shed.Felt I couldn't wait too long,so today was the day for first feed.Assist feed with smallest pinkie mouse I could find.Couple of spits out but eventually went down.Going to be a while before jumbo rats!

Re: 13g het caramel hatchling(update)
glad to see that you started assist feeding. these little guys need to be jump started sooner than an average size hatchling. I had at least one set of twins every year for the last 4 years.some of the twins being very small. missing the first shed, not to worry, most will miss it. I even had average size hatchlings miss it. keep an eye on the stomach for swelling after a few feedings. sometimes these little guys will get compacted. gentle message usually works. when assist feeding the prey item is smaller than what they would take on their owned. the time between feedings should be smaller too. good luck and keep us posted. don

Sadly she died through the night.Attempted assist feed again yesterday but spat out and I didn't want to stress her any more. Did wonder about possible resp infection as slightly, occasionally open-mouthed.Maybe just too small to make it,or suppose possible underlying congenital problem causing her to be so small in first place.Greatly appreciate all the support, and a long way from being the end of the world!
Cheers guys,Ian
