Pastel Calico?
I'm interested to buy this little female pastel, she had lots of white coloration. The seller is selling her as a quality pastel, cost twice the price of a normal pastel here.FYI here female pastel cost $200 and this one is $400.I assumed she might be a calico pastel looking at the white coloration on her. What do you guys think,Is she a pastel calico,or just normal pastel?

Looks pastel to me and looks like she will likely brown out a lot on her back because of how much orange she has. A calico would have tons of blushing and lots of white probable halfeay up the sides. Check pics on google and ull see what I mean.

That's just a plain pastel, sorry to say.

I agree with all. But one question. What was the pairing? Did the seller say she may be possible calico or did u just pull that out of the air? The mother snake has to be paired with a calico in order to have calico babies. No offence but it bugs me when people think this snake they found has something magic about it even tho it came from a pastel x normal. It's a pastel and not really a top notch one IMHO. The seller should be asking fair market value for it.

Looks nothing like a pastel calico. Nice Pastel calicos are one of the nicest 2 gene combos IMO.

Well the seller is not sure also, cause she was imported. And this one was very different from the others. And the breeder said that she might be mixed up in the "pastel" shipment...because the breeder has a calico x pastel babies, but it was unsure.Anyway thanks all for identifying,I don't think i wanna spend twice the price on a normal pastel .

Honestly, that's not even a quality pastel in my opinion. She's really dirty looking. Definitely not worth $400.

Not good at all. If they are going to have a moderate amount of brown, the blushing should be crazy IMO.

I'd have to agree with just pastel. I know some calicos can be hard to see, but I would think the pattern would be different and give away the calico if it had calico in it.

I don't know what anyone else is going to say but with the new pictures, I'm actually seeing the Calico in there...
However, this girl is still a dirty looking Pastel with low white Calico. You can find better quality snakes for the same price. Pass it.

Yup she is indeed a very dirty pastel.FYI in my place here a male calico cost about $550-$650.
So i think if she is a calico pastel that price will be considered cheap, since calico and calico combos are quite rare in here.:)

I'm still sure it's not a pastel calico. Nothing like one.

Well, I would say that since this is a low quality animal and that this is actually a bit of a gamble since no one seems to be 100% sure this is in fact a Calico Pastel, I would say just save that $400 and maybe invest in a better quality animal for a little bit more later on. If you're planning on breeding, no doubt a better looking animal would be worth it in the long run.

I still don't think its a calico. Many normals have that white in the alien heads. I think its a high white normal pastel that has a similar trait.

Calico also tends to change up the pattern a bit.

Thanks again everyone....now i know that calico tends to change the pattern a bit (thanks to nikki :))....I'm still learning and learning all about BP's....where i live here there's only a few breeders, only one i actually know :D.and reptile stores here don't have many example of the morphs.only some common morphs (pastels, spiders, albino etc) i have only seen a calico in person once....so i still kinda confused how to tell the difference on them. The first time i saw this pastel i thought she was a pastel calico because of the white color on the sides of her body :D.

Here we don't have much honest seller, they tend to rip us hobbyist if they can, well i'm not saying all of them, but most of them are:(.

I've been in the snake hobby for only 3-4months,with no knowledge at all.Tried to sign in a local snake forum, but again most of the forum members are sellers and they won't share their knowledge with us hobbyist.

Found out about BP.net,lurking,posting(mostly asking):P....and now at least i know much more than before, still a lack of knowledge newbie though but surely will keep learning and learning from all of you.:)

Thanks BP.net....Thanks everyone :)

i have read on WOB also :D...but for my untrained eyes sometimes it's hard to see the difference...most of the pics there are quality sample of the morphs....we don't find much of those quality animals here, and if there is the price would super duper expensive they will call it collector items. Those things are way above my budget...that's why i always ask here and post the BP's i had interest on,with all your opinions i can find myself at least an average quality for my budget (hopefully if i'm lucky i might get a good quality one) :D.

PS: Sorry for my bad English :)
