Hognose Venom
Hello all,
I am sad to announce that my beloved ball python "Nameless" passed away early this morning.
Nameless has owned me for ten years. She was one of the first snakes (the first boid) I owned. Nameless was an adult wild caught female who was rescued by me due to her "inability" to breed. (she was a big biter).
But she never bit me, not once. She is and always will be the reason that I do rescue work.
Sadly someone stole away her freedom, and took away her home.
Just to put her in a box. It was my goal to always give her the largest "box" possible. I am in high hopes that with her passing she is free once again.
Please folks, do not support wild catching of animals.
Put yourself in that position. You would understand.
Sincerely
Rusty

that's too bad Rusty I'm sure she is free once again. I completely agree with buying captive bred it's just the right thing to do on so many levels. Sorry for your loss.

She is more free now than she ever was in life...even before she was put in a 'box'. I am deeply sorry for your loss....but I know you will continue your wonderful work in her memory. :)

sorry for your loss........thanks for all of the work that you do!

{{{HUGSSS}}} I'm very, very sorry to hear this, Rusty. I pray your memories of her are always good ones, especially when you remember all the good she's inspired you to do.

Our deepest condolences for your loss but we all know she is in the best habitat ever created and catching gerbils :)

Oh Rusty, that is very sad news. My thoughts are with ya.

Really sorry to hear that Rusty, truly from the bottom of my heart. I have so much respect for the work that you do rescuing. As others have said, she is free in that habitat in the sky with perfect temps, perfect humidity, as many hides as she could ever ask for & an endless supply of the best eats! God Speed nameless!

I feel for ya Rusty girl

Majorly awesome!
Rusty,
I'm sorry to heat that you lost one that you've had and cared about for a long time. I agree with you that it's not right to support those who kidnap creatures from their homes. But I know that of all the homes that it could have ended up in, I'm sure it couldnd't have ended up in a better home than yours.
I'm sure she was grateful in whatever way she could be to you for rescuing her and providing so well for her.
Take care.

I am sorry to hear about your snake. The WC male that I rescued is another example of the stupidity of WC bps. He is terrified of people (understandably) from being taken from the wild as an adult. At least you gave your female a good life while she had to be in captivity.

Rusty, that's terrible. I'm so sorry for your loss. I hate that there is such a need for animal rescue, but I am thankful that she inspired you to do what you do and that her rescue has led to many more saved lives and improved conditions. She's special to all of us for that reason as well as because of what she meant to you.

I wanted to thank everyone for your kind words.

Sorry to hear about Nameless. :( But it sounds like her last 10 years were better than they could have been! Not to mention all the other herps you have rescued now! :D

So sorry to hear about Nameless Rusty. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.
I know the wild is where she belonged but at least she found you and her quality of life for her last 10 years was good, that is a blessing.
Everyone or thing is brought into our life for a reason and Nameless gave a sacrifice of her freedom to come to you and move you to doing rescue work which is a great thing.
Think of all the animals you have saved from a horrible life due to Nameless.
That is a wonderful thing something to be very proud of.
Please keep up the great work, Nameless would have wanted no less
