    dumb question....
Here,s the deal, I'm adding a whole string of large cages for some carpets growing up. 12 to be exact. Can I use 1 herpstat four to control all of the cages or will it overload? Similarly, can 1 herpstat control more racks then it's supposed to if they all need the same temp? .... excuse my ignorance......

As long as they don't exceed the maximum wattage your fine

The risk you runs is temp variance. Say you've got 4 probes and you need to control 12 tanks. Well only one of the tanks gets the probe so the Thermostat thinks everything is good to go. But the other two tanks are cooler or even hotter than the one with the probe because they aren't in the same enviroment that the first one is.. just be carefull..

Just my opinion if you spending a lot of money for cages and I think you mentions racks why don't you just invest in good thermostats also. I believe it would be worth it with a collection that large.

I'm pretty sure herpstat 4's are good thermostats.....

Anddddd what would be a better quality tstat than a herpstat...?

Id only be concerned about the same problem Freakie Frog mentioned. Some cages wouldnt have probes then.

I meant like 2 more herpstat 4s to cover all your cages. Even if he can't cant get them all at once. It would be better to try to get 1 enclosure 1 probe.

Depends on your room, i use one stat for 4, cages, temp varies about 3 degrees top to bottom last time I checked, well within a tolerable range. Just test it out before you put animals in there, but in my experience, you should be fine.

When it comes to your snakes, the only dumb question is the one you don't ask.

How are you going to stack cages?

Say you have 3 side by side 4 high

I would put one probe on each level.

Very steady room temps would be ideal.

I was just offering a suggestion of the best possible option and was not weighing your financial situation. Like I said before you should be fine as long as you have steady room temps and don't exceed maximum wattage.

My room is temp controlled, I planned on doing 1 prob per level since heat rises and what not
