So I've had this girl for a few months an last night she shed I think she's about seven feet long but the shed is 7.5 feet long do they stretch?http://img.tapatalk.com/d/12/12/05/6ype3ady.jpg
    When I found her starting.

Thank you it's her first shed with me, she's a rescue an had a bad spot from rubbing on her nose but its all good now ha the nose on the shed is like twice as thick as rest of the shed. She's my first bigger snake and I love her handling time is exciting haha she no longer needs a snake hook so I'm pumped bout that too :)

There are no silly questions :) she's a carpet python. From what I've been told a coastal carpet but that could be wrong still new to the different kinds. She's about seven feet long and was a handful in the beginning but has become quite nice just fast and likes to roam when she's out.

My husband and I where looking at her and couldnt determine here breed but that explains it I have dealt with reticulated, Burmese and balls and red tail boas and tree boas

Sheds do stretch. That's why you can never tell a snakes length by the shed. My 6 1/2 foot jungle carpet had a shed over 10 feet once.

It could be a coastal but from the color to me it looks more like a jungle carpet.

Glad to see she's settling in for you and looking good, I remember your first post from when you got her. Thanks for sharing!

Stripe down the back is consistent with Coastal markings. Could have other influence since blood lines get crossed far too often. . .

Nice Coastal, my female is an inch or two shy of 9ft now I've had her for 2 years now. She's a good snake never bit me, but has tried during feeding time haha! she'll actually come out of her boaphile and chase me for her jumbo rat.

Carpets are funny, once you work with them long enough you can read them like a book. I've been keeping carpets for 2 almost 3 years now and I can read pretty much any carpet python I come across. It's funny I clean a friends collection and he keeps all carpets and swears they are all mean as heck. I can go in there, pull them out clean and change water like it's no big deal. The look on his face was priceless when I pulled out his "meanest" Jungle carpet and put her in a bin with ease so I could clean her cage.
