I prefer cypress. No dust and holds humidity.

I actually prefer aspen, I agree with all that has been said but for me the environmental reason out weigh the other considerations. My first choice is coco coir over both however.

Out of the two I would use cypress if you are having humidity issues. I just switched from a glass tank to a pvc enclosure and since these hold humidity better I bought a roll of corrugated wrap going to see how I like that.

Don't sweat it.. Just use the aspen until you run out. It should last you a good long while. Then when you're ready to do a complete bedding change out, get some cypress and try it out. Eventually you'll know what you prefer. You'll just end up doing what we all have anyway and that's just try everything out at least once yourself before deciding what you like to use. Me personally, I switch back and forth between newspaper, paper towels, and cypress. Depending on what I have at the moment, who is eating, who is breeding, etc..

When I made the cypress reply it was because you wanted to most your substrate. If the humidity is okay without misting the substrate aspen is great. I used it for a kind time and still use it for my Hoggies and sand boas.
