Tell Me a Ghost Story
I was reading a thread on here recently where a member was having trouble with ghosts in her house. Another member mentioned they didn't want to hijack the thread but could talk all day about it. That got me to thinking I have a ghost story of my own and suspect some others may too. So let's hear them. I will start.
Growing up my parents decided to get back to basics and buy an old farm. Eventually getting back to basics meant getting divorced, but that's another horror story. Anyways the farm was built in the mid 1800's. We had a few incidents of hearing voices and being tapped on the shoulder, etc. The scariest experience for me was me and my brother laying in bed one night when we had friends staying over. There were three of us in the bed and one on a cot next to the bed. It was very late and everyone was asleep or should have been. I started hearing footsteps coming down the hall. It was all wood floors so the footsteps where very noticable. The bedroom door opened and the unseen visitor walked to the foot of my bed and sat at my feet. I felt the mattress sink under the weight so to speak. I was so scared I could'nt move or scream. Then it got up, went over and knocked the foot of the cot out so the bottom half dropped to the floor with a loud crash. Then it just walked out. The friend sleeping in the cot didn't even know what happenned. I was 12 at the time.

Re: Tell Me a Ghost Story
My Grandfather built houses for a living and always built his own. He did all of the wiring, plumbing, etc. He was a master at what he did! (Miss ya, Gramps!) Years ago, when my Mom was in High School and still living at home, a couple odd things started to occur with the family house Gramps built. It started off with little things like drawers being left open, cupboards doors left open. You know, cliche ghost things! XD
Then, it escalated into the door bell ringing...often. They dismissed it as just kids in the neighborhood playing "Ding-dong-ditch". Haha, I loved that game! \m/ \m/
The story my Mom told me continues with G'pa getting very agitated with the door bell going off day and night. So, he got his electrical tools and supplies and totally went through the wiring. Let me remind you that G'pa was a master electrician! No problem with the wiring, at all.
As soon as it started, the doorbell ringing stopped. Then came the weird stuff. With my Mom still in High School and my two Grandparents at work all day, they would occasionally come home to find random things "thrown" around the room/house. First instinct is "burglars", right? That was ruled out when Grandpa found some of his loose cash and collection of rare coins tossed around like they were nothing. Nothing missing.;)

I've had a few weird things happen. A few happened at a nursing home I worked at (first CNA job) it was a big house with eight bed rooms two kitchens and living rooms an stuff like that. It wasn't a place were people normally passed away but a some had in the house and one was a little old lady that I guess was one of the nicest ladies ever at that place. I was sleeping on the couch one night (we were aloud to nap on midnights form 2-4) and I heard a walker slam into the couch I opened my eyes an seen a lil lady with glasses looking at me I was still waking up and thought it was a lady Kay so I asked her what's wrong Kay and started sitting up then I membered Kay doesn't have glasses and doesn't use her walker (the lady was already walking away thru the kitchen towards the resident rooms so I got up to figure out which one it was but couldn't find her. Thought I was just going crazy ha me and my coworker seen her one night too we were out side smoking looking into the windows again around 3ish an we seen the lil lady come out of the hall way go into the living room then into they guys bed room (only two guys there for longest time) and one of the guys with bad althimerzs (can't spell that) came out of the room ha it was weird at that house the you'd always hear the fridge opening in which ever house me and my coworker weren't in.

The term can also refer to the period between midnight and 3 am, also known as "The Devils's Hour".

Ya that place had its creepy moments haha the place I work at now just has a weird vibe at nice (big nursing home) and we have a floor specificily for nuns (I'm not aloud on that floor) the nun floor it's creepy as all like I go up there and I feel like I'm being watched the whole time I'm getting what I need. An all I know is if ghosts are real then that's awesome cuz that means in some form their is something after our bodies die. Idk seen enough people go I want their to be another step cuz you can see when what it is that made that person them leaves the body, like the body is still alive but it's just going the the motions (if that sounds right) idk I still can't wrap my hands around it.

I hope you do have some kind of experience, but one that you can handle and ends up being cool. I wish I had been more then, like I am about it, the concept of ghosts, now. I think I would have been more in awe than scared. But when your 12, its pretty darn frightening.

Oh man, I try to stay away from haunted things because they always find me. I think it's my energy, I get really worked up and freak out easily, lol.
Our house has weird stuff happen all the time. The coolest/scariest thing was our little flashlight trick. Ghost hunting shows like to put out a flash light that is twisted till it just needs touched to turn on (more or less). Well I decided to do that since we have had all sorts of weird things happen in this house. Nothing happened with the flashlight so I left it on our dresser in the bedroom, I said if anyone was around they could turn on the light during the night. Well....I ended up waking up in the middle of the night with the flashlight shinning in my eyes. I was so freaking scared I pulled the blankets over my head and kept whispering "please shut off please shut off!" and the light shut off. I breathed a sigh of relief, put the blankets back down and the dang flashlight turned back on! I squealed and hid under the blankets while the light flickered a few times and turned off again. I left the flashlight in the same place, same setting for the next week and it never turned on again. I haven't tried asking the ghost to turn it on since, I'm still kind of freaked out, lol.
I've seen a lot of "ghosts" or weird things, but it would take too long to write all them out!

I have two!
One time, when I was about 6 years old I remember waking up in my loft bed, and a big black cat came flying out of nowhere and landed on my stomach, looked at me for a second, then leapt off out the (closed) window. I remember not being scared at all!
Another time, I was at a friend's house, was walking down the hall at night from the bathroom, and the light was on on her sister's room (she was away at a sleepover). I loked in and there was an old woman who was kind of rocking back and forth doing something with her hands and muttering something. I totally freaked out (as you do) and ran into my friends room.

I've had a lot of experiences with ghosts so I totally believe in them.
The freakiest experiences I've had was when I traveled abroad though. One of them was when I was when I was in a hotel room (just me and a friend were in the room at the time), we were sitting doing our own thing when we heard footsteps outside of the door. When we didn't see that the door opened (we shared a room with a total of 4 people) we looked at each other, I got up and looked through the peep hole and didn't see anything. So I opened the door and nothing. So I sat back down like oh maybe it was just loud footsteps. A few minutes later someone knocked on the door so I opened it and no one was there. This was when we started getting more freaked. Later, we heard noises coming from the vacant room next door. The way they had it set up was; you can see the room next door through a shared window. No one was there so it was freaky to have heard anything coming from that room. Later that evening we heard a tune coming from somewhere in our room but we couldn't figure out where it was coming from (we tried following it but it was seriously coming from nowhere).
That wasn't the freakiest experience though XP
