    How carpets mangle rats
Caramel Coastal Carpet Python, male, fresh out of shed tonight got to feed, and boy he was excited! He hit his med. rat so hard that he literally ripped his stomach open and kept going. Bloodiest feeding I've seen in a while, thought I'd share a moment.

Nice! When my lesser did this, she refused to finish it:

Shows how carpets are much less pickier i guess since yours was way worse and he STILL ate it lol.

Nice pic. My pastel poped her small rat last week and still ate it. I was impressed because shes my picky eater. Also i had the jelly filled comment in mind lol. :gj:

Haha, awesome! My carpet hits hers hard too. I've started 'hook training' her so I can safely get her out - anything that moves in her enclosure is considered a meal, and is hit hard and fast. She kills faster than any of my other snakes, and is so impressive to watch maneuver her prey in coils while dangling from a branch :D

Fortunately he is baby tame when its not feeding time and even when it is hes still fairly docile. I usually have to present him with a rat before he goes total ape on me

Once my girl is out of her cage she's perfectly friendly, hasn't attempted to bite when being handled for over a year (when I pulled her out of her box from the mail :D)... but in her cage is another story entirely!

Yep, I had a male Jungle that I sold recently who was cage agressive, and normally fine once out of the cage. My Irian Jaya Granite however . . . he's not cage agressive at all but once he's out of the cage he's definitely a monster and has taken a considerable amount of my blood ;-) it's ok he's still young! He'll learn.

I love carpet temperaments (I've only had my adult female for couple months tho) If I had the room I would be very tempted to try my hand breeding them I like their looks and their size and everything haha. The striking and eating while hanging from a branch is cool to see as well

Yep, the majority of mine, adults and juveniles, will all eat from a perch. The only exception is my Pure Coastal Jag girl who, for some reason, prefers to eat on top of her hide. . .

Haha she wants to be an individual :) and the first time I seen the hanging and eating I turned into a kid seeing the coolest thing he's seen lol but I'm easily excited and being my first carpet and first snake taller then me I couldn't help but be amazed lol.
