Females for future
Hey iv been saving up, trying to get around 7-8k strictly for females to raise up and breed which I'll reach by next year hopefully. What would be my best choices to match with my pastel lesser? No spider gene plz or anything with potential defects! Thanks for the help experts ;)

Enchi, YB, Fire, Vanilla, Mojo
With $8K you could afford a super enchi, ivory, BEL, super vanilla and BEL. And still probably have money left over.

Which would be the top 2 you would recommend.

I say get a yellowbelly fire, mojave enchi, pastel calico, and maybe get into specials (for crystals) and superstripes.
Are you interested in recessives?
You can get some clown or hypo stuff going.

I would get a GHI and an HGW

Recessives are very cool, but I don't think I'd want to start that right off the bat, maybe get a few years under my belt then get into that... These are all ones iv looked into its gonna pretty hard to choice between

If you only want two then i wouldnt buy supers.
Like a Fire YB and Mochi.
You would still have money left over though. So maybe buy triple gene females if you only wanna get two.
Theres no reason to wait to get recessives. Breeding them really isnt that much different.

This is a really cool thread! :D
I'd take a quick glance at the desert ghost gene. Although it is a recessive gene and you said you'd like to wait on your recessive projects, it's doing some amazing things in combinations and there aren't a ton of desert ghost animals flying around either (that I am aware of).
Here are a few other animals that have come to mind that I think would be sweet!
1) Enchi fire: This combination is smoking hot on its own!
2) Disco YB: I personally like the disco over the vanilla because of the extreme ringers you get when combined with a fire. YB is, in my opinion, a must-have gene.
The first two females should produce super bright stuff that you'll need sunglasses to look at.
A hidden gene woma female would be cool if you like soul sucker combos. Another option would be to get a het platty daddy female from Ralph Davis for your pastel lesser boy. Finally, an orange dream girl could be another option.
By next year, you could potentially sneak a fair amount of these guys under the salary cap I think.

Thanks for all your suggestions! I really like the desert stuff but I thought the females don't reproduce, or am I thinking of something else? It's pretty clear everyone thinks the yb, fire, and enchi genes are amazing so those 3 at least will be coming my way.

You're welcome! The desert ghost gene is a recessive gene (there aren't any reproductive issues! :-D) and is different from the condom desert gene that you're thinking of. A few desert ghost combos were actually posted yesterday in the pics section, so check them out! :)
Those three genes are a great starting point! :gj:

Het Platty Daddy....make Pastel Platties first breeding.
Spotnose and/or combo...have you seen the Pastel Lesser Spotnose?!
Enchi and/or combo...can't go wrong with Enchi in anything.
Fire and/or combo...Fire and Lesser mix wonderfully.

The ghi doesn't really appeal to me that much, of course the money would be nice but I'm not getting into this thinking I'm going to bankroll off it. Just pure pleasure of it and working with them.

Maybe go with some nice codom recessivea

Then pick the morphs YOU like :P

I'd get 8 pewter pins and call it a day ;) .... (can you tell I really really want one?)
-
I'd get an ultramel female, and a GHI female. Pastel lesser x either will be pretty hot. The ultramel lesser is going to be extremely important in the future, as lesser mixed with just about anything is awesome. The lesser GHI is hot, and still extremely rare. The pastel lesser GHI hasn't been done I don't think, but by the time you're going to be breeding the GHI, there will probably be a few out there. Still, you could be one of the few people who will have some in stock :gj:.

As I agree with higher end females, I think if you have a minimal amount of snakes, you should spread it around a little bit more rather than something like a GHI and a Desert Ghost etc. If you've got 1 male to breed, I'd recommend picking up about 5-6 females as you're not putting all your eggs in 1 basket. It's a bit of a risk to spend that much money on 1 or 2 females to have something happen, then you're back at square 1.
-
Well, I'd say it depends on your plans. Are you wanting to produce triple or double genes right off the bat?
I personally would throw a spider at that pastel lesser of yours. Lesser bees are just gorgeous. ;)
