Football!
So it's a beautiful Sunday to fill with the NFL so who's fans an what's your team! Now I enjoy watching many teams play I'm a Minnesota man and the Vikings are my team thru good thru the bad(many many bad) they are the team I yell and cheer at the tv for.
-
I've been born and raised to be a Cowboys fan both at the college level and the NFL level. One of my teams pulled a decisive win last night, I'm hoping Romo doesn't blow this one and end us up 3-6. Who knows, we suck it up this year and pull a Colts for a new QB lol.
-
Re: Football!
49ers. 100% also, don't forget college, not having a great season but i am a utah utes fan all the way.:gj:
-
I don't get to watch as many college games as I'd like too so haven't formed a favorite team there yet. Growing up I liked the Irish tho but that's cuz I'm half Irish so I thought I had to root for them haha they are having a good year this year tho
-
Yeah, they put OU in their place so they aren't on my against list. ;)
I go to OSU so it's hard to not hear about college football haha.
-
Ya in Minnesota you hear about college hockey all the time and since I live in duluth it's all about UMD hockey. I wish we had a bigger BSC eligible team then id go to some college games they look like a blast.

Just can't celebrate too much when packers lose too many girls yell at me when I do haha

They had a nice win over the lions today. with ap runnin like he is and ponder playing well you should be able to lock up a wild card spot.

I've got fingers and toes crossed for a wild card spot. And AP is just a beast I really like the players we have now getting alot more balanced an everyone is still young enough that we can still get better and stop living off of field goals but not gonna complain the wins are nice and Walsh has a boot on him. Hopin to see the Vikings win a Super Bowl before I die lol I'm 24 now so they have some time but sooner the better have a lot of faces I need to rub that into haha

Re: Football!
Watching games today while doing chores with the windows open. :D
I'm an Eagles fan and unfortunately have been put off by the team for the past few years so my Sundays are usually filled with doing other stuff. And of course as I write this, they score on an opening drive for the first time this year. :smh:
On a Minnesota note, I have Ponder as one of my backup QBs and should have started him today over Tannehill. That's what I get for not going with my gut and taking advise from the tool bags at work. :smh:

Re: Football!
Pats fan since Steve Grogan and John "Hawg" Hannah were teammates...

And I don't blame you for not starting ponder he had a bad last three games an with no harvin he did hell of a lot better then I thought he would but he was forced to read the field and not just watch harvin. Who I might add is a beast and a great all around player between ponder, harvin and of coarse AP the Vikings fill with hope.

Sorry Pyrate, Dallas defense pulled that one out. I must say, if the dallas defense didn't perform so well the cowboys would be bankrupt.

I have the Dallas defense in one if my leagues ha what did they get two defensive touchdowns? I haven't checked yet just hoping for those I missed most the game going to pet store. Seen the first tie game since 08 well over time of that

^^Ha ha
I'm fine with it at this point. I want to see new blood in the coaching staff. At least Foles got to play for a bit. :)
Although, I went to the pet store to stare at a couple snakes and debate buying the one cali king they say is 'vicious'. It has supposedly been in the store for over a year. I put my hand in the enclosure and it latched on and I just picked it up. He let go and was really friendly after that. The assistant manager offered me 75% off, so I think it'll get added to my collection this weekend. :D
-
I just got home from the eagels game :( but still let's go eagels!

The eagles should have been better this year least it seemed that way still don't know how my feelings are towards Vick as a human tho seems like he tried to make up for what happened just dont know if its sincere. But that's off topic. I want to go to a live game I'm hoping to come up with the money to go before the Vikings leave the dome and money for tickets to opener at the new stadium. If my nephew is old enough my favorite little man will come to his first games then too
-
Ive been to 1 pats (home) game. Awesome experience but not something id wanna do every week lol. Id be happy if i got to go once a year. The thing is that im a *football* fan even before im a pats fan. So not being able to flip between channels and check on how other teams are doing kinda annoyed me lol. Also not being able to eat food and take a pee break whenever i needed to was annoying too. Still, cant beat the energy of being in the stadium!

Re: Football!
I am a die hard Falcon fan. We lost yesterday but it doesn't take away from our unprecedented success because it was just our first loss.
-
Yes, I do mean Ware haha! But, Romos just leaving the defense on the field. Never get a break.

Ya the falcons are having a great year, I'm betting they'll be one of the final teams standing unless they have an off game in the play offs.
-
I dont think Matty Ice is a SB caliber qb yet. He's good, but not that good. Just my opinion.

I disagree. I think the Falcons problem are the non-existent running game and a porous run defense. Matt IMO has proven he can dance with the big boys. But the whole team needs to be in gear to make it all the way.
-
Hmm maybe. I dont follow the team very closely so i guess my opinion isnt as accurate as it could be. I also predicted that sanchez and rivers were never gunna win a SB when they were in the league for year or two and theyve come pretty close so who knows.
-
Re: Football!
I think Matty Ice has the potential to make that next step this year. The stats are there and he has the weapons (special thanks to Roddy for being a PPR beast the past few years), but I want to see what he does when it comes playoff time. As mentioned above the running game and run defense need to step it up, but the opportunity is there for him.
On another note, could the dreaded Tebowmania be on the horizon? :O
-
Falcons, Baby! It's nice to have a great season for a change!

I fear it's closer then we think. Waiting for sportscenter to blow up the story. Don't know how any jets fans feel about him but I just see him as a look at us kind of option, all the attention might not be Tebows fault but I don't see him as a solid QB.

Tim Tebow is a winner, and I love that about the guy; however, I don't see him as having a long term NFL career as a QB (I'd love to see him prove me wrong though). I think it'd be better if he'd transition to fullback, but that's just me.
Skip Bayless probably has a few months worth of Tim Tebow-related material if he gets a start this season... I am dreading it. About the only good thing that came from Tebowmania is this video... very catchy. :D

Re: Football!
I'm also a huge Vikings fan, I'm liking the team so far our first round picks were spot on Matt Kalil is a top 5 Left Tackle and is a athletic freak, and Harrison Smith is a Hard hitting Safety and is going to have an excellent career here in Minnesota! Our O-line is dominating and it shows with the running lanes that AP has been getting. Not happy with the quarterback play and the quality of wide outs we have. But will be addressed hopefully this off season! I really hope Ponder can be more consistent i'm tired of horrible quarterback play in Minnesota...

YES! Me and my stepdad have been saying this for awhile. Tebow need to transition to a RB(or FB) postion. The guys an athlete and he is hard to tackle, i think he'd be better in that position.

Tim Tebow: 6'3", 236 lbs, 4.7 sec 40 yard dash
Mike Alstott: 6'1", 248 lbs, 4.66 sec 40 yard dash
It could work... :)

I have hope for ponder at times he has flashes of maybe he could be great so I'm willing to let him get some time before I judge too much far as wide outs mainly harvin there but I think Simpson has a chance to be better and if ponder learns to read the whole field and not just making a one read to Harvin all the time maybe the passing game will balance out a little more.
And Tebow I also think a switch to full back would be a good choice if he wants to throw the ball every now and then have a play or two where he takes the hand off and throws it. Like I said I don't see him as a solid Qb athletic and a hard worker yeah noone can really argue that but he's not Qb material, he does win tho haha that video is awesome.

Haha you'll just have to buy her a pats jersey then. Guessing you'd be happier then. She can like any team she wants long as she knows things about football that gives girls big pluses lol

Re: Football!
Your on the wrong side of the state then come to the west part (I can throw a rock from my back yard to North Dakota) There are a ton of hot girls who like the Vikings here! :) I feel bad that you live that close to Wisconsin :(

Its kinna too late for that now... Shes already proven shes not worthy for it.

Haha! I don't know any girls at all (in the South) that are Packers fans.
Everybody down here are Panther fans or Dolphin fans. EWWWWWWWWWWW.
I was born and raised in Baltimore, MD (like I said).. So I am definitely a hardcore Ravens fan...
But my boyfriend was born and raised in La Crosse, WI so he makes me root for them as well :)
... and I have a huge crush on Clay Matthews.
And I think I look pretty cute in Green and Purple ;)
So, those are my two teams..
And they both actually are pretty damn good teams...
Except for the fact that Ray Lewis is out :(
