how long does it take?

How long does it take from the start of breeding does she lay eggs i started the first week of Oct and im wondering how long i have to finish my incubator thanks

Depends there is no true timeline of events. If you are lucky Apr/May but it could be sooner or it could be later.

I would get cranking on the bator.

Unfortunately there's not really a set amount of time. These ladies go on their own schedule. Here's a good timeline to give you an idea:

I was wondering this same thing, not because I'm in a rush but just out of curiosity. Have any of you had a female lay after just one pairing? If so, how long after the pairing did she lay?

Ive never had a female gravid from just one pairing.

Ive never just paired a female once!

i just recently got into ball pythons, been doing boas for over ten years. when you breed your balls, do you use two males, is that what you are saying?

No. I'm saying that I've never paired a single female with a singe male one time and hope that she took. I normally keep pairing until I see an ovulated or have decided that she is not going this season.

It makes me a little nervous to think you're pairing before having that kind of knowledge.

It is quite common for ball python people to get into breeding before they know anything about it.
I did, and 5 years later I'm producing some fantastic snakes.
I had a great support group, friends and forums like this one did a lot for me as I learned each and every step along the way.
What makes the difference in the end is a persons passion for what they are doing.
You either have it or you don't.

To the OP: last year I started pairing in Sept/Oct and got my first clutches in May.

oh ok, that makes perfect sense, i was confused for a second when i thought u were saying the opposite. thank you for clearing that up.
