What music does everyone listen too?
My favourite stuff, is the following (incase none of you know what I'm on about lol).
Hardcore: http://youtu.be/wQlJVCZERiM (ignore the first 40seconds)
Black metal: http://youtu.be/EUWOqr_AJvI
Death metal: http://youtu.be/QVJxCLcU6Wc
But then aside from that I listen to other music quite different.......Taylor Swift is my most played artist on iTunes haha! Like Kings of Leon, Nickelback, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Colbie Caillat, Norah Jones, The Script, The Fray, Lana Del Rey, Sinatra, Korn, Drowning pool, quite a lot of classical music too. I just have a messed up taste in music lol. Pretty much anything, but I will rarely listen to R'n'B or Dance/Trance music
-
I like deathcore, death metal, and some bands that I don't know their genere
-
For music, it all depends on the mood I'm in, some days I listen to Macklemore, other days J. Reyez, Wisin & Yandel, Breaking Benjamin, BIGBANG, Fort Minor, Gackt, D-Pryde, Tommy C, etc.
-
Anything with a good guitar is all I need. I like delta blues, folk, 50s, 60s, hair bands, metal, hardcore, grindcore, old country, punk, gospel, bits and pieces of just about any other genre out there.
-
Metal.
Also whatever is on the radio on the way to school. So all the pop stuff. I dont *love* that stuff, but its alright.
-
Metal of all genres, dubstep, APC/Tool, and 1 or 2 "rap?" songs....I dont even know what genre its called.....
-
I listen to a whole ton of stuff (everything from JPop to Metal and then some), but my "default" music is Goth/Industrial/EBM (but not Shoegaze, that just makes me sleepy lol).
-
\m/ take that however you want. :p

I will literally listen to anything as long as it isn't painful to my ears. Death metal, while I can appreciate the musical talent that goes into it, it falls under the category of music that does not sound good to me.
Currently I am into Kimbra (My favorite!), Imagine Dragons, Justin Bieber (yeah yeah I know), Astra, Kanye, Kid Cudi, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Neon Trees...
I could go on forever.

Yeah it's an 'acquired taste' along with all the other extreme metal genres. Black metal probably being the hardest to like. But that's my favourite, not sure why.
Respect on the Taylor Swift haha!

Classical
Djent
Progressive metal
Symphonic metal (Including Neo-classical symphonic metal, and blackened symphonic death metal)
Blackened death metal
Technical death metal
Melodic death metal
Death metal
Symphonic black metal
Black metal
200 GB and counting lol.

My tastes are pretty eclectic these days, but still lots of metal/hardcore, some pop, and classic rock.

Depends I suppose, haha. Cleaning at work? Deathklok, Rob Zombie, Korn, Slipknot, Breaking Benjamin, general alt rock and metal. Reading or chilling out at home is a lot of classical and instrumental, soundtracks are a good one (Zoe Keating! I love cellos). Driving I'll listen to some top 40 stations, but I get picky about the music (I can't stand Katy Perry's voice, I don't know what it is, I just can't).
And there's just a filler eclectic mix of songs I like, from Jack Johnson to Volbeat to Flogging Molly to, well, anything I happen to like the sound of (including some country ;) ). When I was still doing SCA things I collected some smaller artists who do renaissance/medieval themed music that's fun to listen to, and I'm always a sucker for the circus music from the place I used to volunteer at (Circus Contraption – Marshmallows and a Holy Bible is one of my favorites).

Grew up on Korn, Slipknot (and Papa Roach, Mudvayne etc)..I think everyone did that was born in the early 90's. Well everyone at my school did at least lol.
I like a lot of country actually. Love Ryan Bingham, he's not that huge over here, but i think he's a lot more popular in America.
I love his voice! So rough. http://youtu.be/ZMYCyr3Rs8Y

Everything
Metal, classic rock, classical, 50s,60s,70s,80s...country, grunge, techno, dance, pop, poprock...
There are some rap songs I like, but very few.
Bieber..no. Minaj, no.
I was singing to the backstreet boys and N'sync at Tiajuana Flats the other night

My preferences in music run a little "weird" sometimes but since you asked, here are some artists and groups I've been listening to lately:
Sunset Rubdown
Astronautalis
The Books
Regina Spektor
Page Francis
The National
Bowerbirds
Neutral Milk Hotel
I run the gamut (ha, musical pun) when it comes to genres. I hardly ever listen to the radio though, so I'm clueless when it comes to top 40 stuff.

Ohmygosh, Bon Iver has some gorgeous songs! Flume and The Wolves (Act I and II) are my favorites. I'm so jealous you get the live experience! Do you like Fleet Foxes or Grizzly Bear?

Haha, i can't wait. I like those songs too. I like all their songs! But their first album is my favourite.
I love Fleet Foxes!! I haven't heard the other guys though, are they similar? Have you heard of Beach House?
On a different note, what about The XX they're massive in England, i think they're starting to get recognized in the US. They are so good!

This is them:

I don't know how to describe them, it's just perfect 'chilling' music.

Beach House is awesome! I had heard of XX, but never got around to sitting down and listening. Thank you for the links!

Re: What music does everyone listen too?
I listen to a little bit of everything. I've played guitar off and on for about 11 years and I like to add a little bit of everything. An example playlist:
Black Dahlia Murder
All That Remains
Jimi Hendrix
John Mayer
Bruno Mars
As I Lay Dying
Bullet For My Valentine
Symphony X
Antoine Dufour
Steve Vai
Joe Satriana
Michael Pope
Sylosis
Threat Signal
etc, etc, etc.
When I listen to music, I like a variety. Sometimes it's a little extreme when you go from Bruno Mars to Black Dahlia xD
