I am loving Black Pastels. I picked up a BP 100% Het Pied and my local breeder has a 1.0 BP that I'm thinking of grabbing just cause he's so pretty.

Thanks everyone. I will try and do a better video in a week or two. I wanted the babies to get some size before I do a video! They are now pounding small mice and weaned asfs so they should be getting fat in no time :gj:

That Black Pastel is really nice but are you sure it's a Liesen Black?

Unless the breeder lied to me, which I doubt since she can from a reputable breeder (Brb reptiles), then she is indeed a liesen black pastel :) she could possibly carry the trick gene. Only time will tell!

Wow, congrats on the pick up. She is a perfect example of the Black Pastel gene.

I bought a Albino Black Pastel from Gary a couple years back and when I opened up the box I was shocked how much better she looked in person. Gary really has (I think) the best line of Black Pastels.

Gary's line of Blacks have a different look to them, at least to me they do.. Here is one that was produced from his original import male that started the trick gene.. I got him directly from Gary in 09..

    x2 that’s a Black Pastel Trick…

Liesen Line Black Pastels look about like any other Black Pastel…It’s the Liesen Line Blacks that have the Trick gene like his Original male that look a lot different…But they look different because they are a Combo!!!

Really? I'm intrigued now. Does she look like a Albino Black Pastel Trick?

Awesome pickups! I have a Liesen Line Black Pastel I'll be pairing up with an Ian G Black Pastel next month! He really has a super nice line that stays very dark as they get older. Gary is also a great guy to deal with!

I actually don't think so after looking at the picture a little longer. She has thick head/orbital stripes. The easiest way to see a trick black pastel is simply the width of the head/orbital stripes. Tricks and same with blitz have very thin head stripes. If you see the regular black pastel in the original post, it has thick eye stripes. Tricks have very tight/narrow eye stripes. There are other markers but that's easiest enough for everyone I believe.

I'm not completely ruling out your albino however, maybe the albino is changing the eye stripes, but at this point it looks to just be black pastel albino. Good luck with her tho!
