    Should i breed her now??
Hello everyone i have a proven breeder female that's currently 1730g she has been off feed for around 2 months. I was wondering if i should pair her up now and maybe that will get her going again?

Her tub has been the same since i got her, same temps, same substrate, same everything. I have tried diff size prey and i feed her pre-killed rats, which she has been eating for well over a year.

Thanks for all your input on this matter.

If she has good size to her, go for it. Weight sometimes doesn't matter if she doesn't have the fat reserves needed. Good luck!

Yea she is a healthy size i was just worried that maybe breeding her would make her go off feed for longer

Me and my boyfriend had a girl just like you. Off feed for two months or maybe three. We were told by two breeders if she has good size to her put a male with her and she'll get feeding again. We put the male with her last week. Fed her two days later and she ate like she was starving. Didn't even take her a whole minute.

Well there's my answer im going to put my male mojave to her an i have another girl that has been seeking the cold side and has been off feed too, she is a virgin and is at 1294g from 1370g maybe putting her to a boy will do the trick until she gets a little bigger.

If I'm not mistaken, the females should be at least 1700g before considering to breed her and the males should be at least 500g.

    Who told you this??

The general rule of thumb is 1500 grams or the snakes second winter. Many people have bred smaller even. I don't recommend it but it happens.

When females are producing follicles they eat like crazy, most of them jump out of the tub to get the rat!! Then they stop eating again...

I say go ahead and breed her. As for the weight, the BP female needs to be at least 1200grams, but 1500grams is preferred. The safety and health of the animal should always be taken care of first.
