I know this isn't a ball but I dunno how many of you visit the boa section so I thought I'd share what I'm getting in less than 12 hours!!!!!!
I have been waiting till I could afford her AND in getting a repeat customer deal!!!! This is gonna be her temp cage until she's big enough to go in one of my racks, and here is her, so excited to own my 1st boa!!!!!

Have you already tested the tub for the right heat and humidity?

Re: Not a ball sorry
I love brbs. Just a thought, are there any holes for air flow? Without airflow, the high humidity it perfect for mold and fungus growth.
-
I know absolutely nothing about boas.... but that's a cool looking one right there! :-)

Lol I am setting the tub up now, there were no holes in it but I'm working on that now!!!!!! I am actually looking for pix on where I should put the holes for the best ventilation, any ideas???? This is my 1st solo tub, so I have no clue lol

Nvm found a good pic here in the Bp husbandry section, so I do think imma add less holes as BrBs need 70% humidity from the research I have done, then gonna get the temp set to around 82 and add more holes later depending on the humidity!!!!

Re: Not a ball sorry
I would ad about 1/4 of the holes you can see in that picture. ou reall dont need a tone, just enough to keep the air from getting stagnant.
-
I put the same amount of holes on the other side in the same pattern and then put 6 in the top and 3 more on each of the other three sides. Gonna set it up in the snake room in a few to get temps and humidity right!!!!

Re: Not a ball sorry
Just reread what you wrote. Im hoping 82 is the hot end? that right about the warmest they can stand without stress.
-
I moved this to the right forum.
-
Sorry and yes imma set it to 82 but it will only get about 78-79 in there with such a small heating pad!!!!

Hatchlings need a humidity of atleast 90%, it lessens as they grow into adults. I have mine sitting at 92% and i've had perfect sheds and their feeding responses went from having to leave it in over night to now they are little monsters when they eat.

Please don't stick the boa right in your snake room already with your other established snakes (this means don't stick it right into your rack either): you really need to quarantine the new addition just in case for the safety of your other snakes. Congrats on the BRB

Daybreaker, my whole collection except my 1st one came from the same guy and the same room which is not HUGE, so if its sick than I wouldn't even have all my others as they'd be sick already too!!!!

Some illnesses don't show up right away, hence the whole 3 month minimum QT period (some do 6 months to a year since some things just don't show up in a short period of time). I QT regardless of who I get what from and if I've already gotten x, y, and z from them because I don't take chances: even one sick snake can mean costly vet bills; I can't imagine two, three, four or more getting ill at a time. Though if you want to take that risk then good luck to you, it's just not a good idea IMO.

Well they were all in the same room before for a while.....this one was just being saved for me since I didn't have money for her yet. I'm sure if one was sick they would have all been sick already. Anyway I got her in her own separate tub with temp at 75 and humidity at about 88%.
