I think its scale rot. And a small bump on her head. what to do?
My Girl is 2 years old and she has some reddish lines in her scales on the bottom of her head. Im pretty sure its scale rot.

She also has a bump on the top of her head. its like a light mark on her head and you can feel the bump. I don't know what that is.

I was putting Silver Sulfadiazine cream 1% on it. Is that good for it? I had that cream for some spots on my bearded dragon and I hoped it might work for her as well.

    Let me know. Thanks!

I don't have any experience with red under the head... but i have experience that bump you are talking about.

If the bump is above the nose, but before the eyes its just nose rub from you snake trying to escape. When i first saw that i got scared and took the snake to the vet... The Doctor just took a blade sliced the bump open and removed the gunk inside the bump. The snake was fine.

    Hope this helps somehow...

    :lurk:

    Pics to come.
As far as how. It may be the humidity is too high. I moved her to a large tub with a lid. I put holes in it but it may nit have been enough.

I have a little experience on scale rot as i have succesfully treated three snakes in the past. You want to put her on paper towels ASAP and put Betadine on the affected area once a day. She will go into shed, at this point do NOT mist the cage, get some java moss and raise the humidity that way. The possible scale rot should go away when she sheds. Best of luck and feel free to pm me with any questions.

I was thinking that but I just don't think so only because I don't feed her live rats. I have them put to sleep....forever, before I feed them. Rats are smart and I'm afraid they will hurt her

Well you just said you fed her a live rat. It can happen very fast and it's very hard to tell what's going on between rat squiggling/squeeling, and the snakes coils. I'm not saying for sure that's what happened; just that it can happen A LOT faster than you think.
