Possible Purchase?????
I am looking at 2 more Ball Pythons. They are both 2012 Female. One is a Spider and the other is a Cinnamon. I have been talking to the breeder and he says he will sell them for $300.00!! I thought this was a really good deal. Then I asked him if the spider had head wobble and he said "Yes, it's not to bad but she is showing signs."
Do you still think this is something to go for???
I am getting him to send me some pictures, I will post them when I get them.

If you like the 2 girls, I would go for it. The wobble thing is pretty insignificant IMO. I mean, yes you should ask, but anything that doesn't interefere with their eating shouldn'to be a red flag. Especially considering the wobble can change so much during the course of their lives. Some babies that show zero wobbles can start when their adults, some that show some wobble can have that wobble dissapear as an adult. Also, a wobble spider can produce non wobblers, and visa versa. "Showing signs" could be something as slight as a head tilt while eating. Just depends on the breeders interpretation.
To sum it up; if you like the girls, go for it :)

Re: Possible Purchase?????
IMO all spiders and womas have a wobble to some degree. I have a male spider who has the worst wobble I have ever seen. He literally corkscrews and ties himself up all the time. He even lays on his back completly still (making me think hes dead). I have had him for going on 3 years now and although he will never be bred (personal preference), he eats just fine.
EDIT: I would actually applaud the seller for disclosing the wobble to you. I know when I bought my spider they didnt tell me anything. Id be more inclined to buy from a honest seller...

I wouldn't let the wobble stop you if you like them, get them!

Re: Possible Purchase?????
My Bumblebee (avatar) definitely has the head wobble but it does not effect her ability to feed. In fact IMO it only adds to her charm. She is my fav of all my babies. If you like the snakes, Id go for it. Dont let the wobble stop you.

Honestly I will be purchasing her to possibly bread.
What are your opinions? From most posts it sounds like we should treat them as if they were any other snake.

Unless I had a spider with a very extreme wobble/corkscrewing I wouldn't hesitate to breed them. You don't want to breed an animal that has a severe wobble just in case it is passed down to its offspring. It is best to try and breed a minimal wobble since you will never be able to get rid of it completely.
-
Re: Possible Purchase?????
As someone has already said, all spiders have the wobble. Sometimes it shows up in early life and goes away or sometimes the opposite. I'd go for it.
-
Re: Possible Purchase?????
I bought mine to breed as well. Her wobble isnt bad enough to stop me. It seems to get worse when shes hungry but after she eats it subsides quite a bit which is normal.
-
What do you think of the price, does it seem reasonable?? $300.00 for both.

That's a nice little spider. Is the cinnamon in shed? If not, the eyes almost look like there may be a stuck cap. They are kinda foggy looking.

I'm having g second thoughts. I started to try and deal with the guy seeing as how he dosent want to ship and I will have a total of 4 hours driving. Which dosent bother me.
Threw out our conversations he seemed a little short and bothers that I was almost wasting his time with questions. Then when I asked if he would meet me and I would pay him for what he thought was fare in gas. Only 20-30 min from his house ( just to try and save me about an hour of driving he wouldn't even entertain the idea.
I don't know, I'm not getting a very good feeling about this guy.

If anything about the deal bothers you, I wouldn't do it. Good deals come around fairly often. I would just pass..
-
I would say if you even have a funny feeling to bag it. You can find other snakes from people who are good to deal with. But that's up to you.

Ya that's what I was thinking. I just don't get a food feeling from the guy. I think that unfortunately I will have to pass on these two beauties. :-(

Don't worry, as mentioned already there are good deals to be had pretty often: you just gotta keep an eye out. Better to be leery then to get burned!
-
Ok I think I have found a amazing deal let me know what you guys think!!!
Both are female one is a Pinand the other is a Mojave.

What was the breeder asking for the pair?
That mojave is very nice, I wouldn't mind asking for 200 at least for such a nice little girl.
The pin is also very nice, though I'm not sure about the going price of hatchling pinstripe females.
-
Hatchling pins girls are about 250-300 for females.
That's just a rough estimate by the way.

Re: Possible Purchase?????
I would say $400 to $600 for pair of hatchling females. Both are awesome single gene morphs! Good luck!

Re: Possible Purchase?????
I paid $150 shipped for my male mojo and the one you posted looks a lot like mine......

That might be a little on the high side, but they are nice-looking animals and it costs him extra to drive them to you. They are much better looking than the first two you posted, which didn't appear to have had their first meals yet. If you go for it, though, I'd suggest meeting somewhere public near your house, for safety's sake (sorry if I'm stating the obvious).
-
Yeah that also seems a little pricey to me. Its your call though. If it is worth it to you then go for it!
-
They will be here TOMORROW!!!!
I am getting them for 650.00 delivered!!! I can't wait!!!
I might have to assist feed the first few times. They are currently eating live. I hope not!!!!
Still super excited!!!

Sorry the pictures are not that great. I don't want to disturb them to much.
I did notice that the Mojave does have an eye cap from the previous shed.
Should I remove it with a damp paper towel or just leave it?

Congratulations! 1) Leave the eye cap alone. 2) No, you should NOT need to assist feed if they are already eating, which they definitely look like they are.

Thanks Annarose.
In regards to assist feeding. When should I be worried? I bought a female pastel about 2.5 weeks ago and she still won't eat. She is about 3.5 months old and weighs 89 grams. All the others are eating great! Just not her. Should I be worried? Or leave her for another couple weeks?

It isn't so much a matter of time as it is weight loss (assuming they have eaten in the past). I have a 3.5 month old bee that is almost 400g, so that female pastel would probably worry me. What are you offering her (live, F/T, mouse, rat, size, etc.)? How often are you offering food? What was the breeder feeding her? How do you have her enclosure set up?

I would deffo be concerned. Contact the breeder and find out what she was eating. When I bought my ghost female, it took her months to eat and I was really concerned for her. I ended have to feed her live mice and thats all she will take. She eats good now but shes VERY picky. Good luck getting her to eat.

Re: Possible Purchase?????
My new baby bumble bee I got had a head wobble when I first got him, but after he got settled into his surroundings I don't see hardly any signs of it, I think his was more stress related. I've read that when they are stressed it comes out more. He just took his first rat pinkie (wo me assist feeding) and he had no problems.
