    Another new snake (soon)
I am thinking of getting another snake very soon. I am looking to get any non giant pythons (ones I cannot own in fl) or cool boas around $250-350. Any suggestions?? I personally love how blood pythons look but even a new morph I don't have would be cool. Any suggestions are appreciated, I don't need anything for breeding purposes necessarily, but if so it's all cool!!!!

I would get a female pinstripe! Even if you didn't want her for breeding purposes, you could always change your mind and decide to breed her to your Mojo, Spider, & Pastel. :gj:

Blood pythons are a very good pet if you spend the time with them they can be real sweethearts. There are not like ball pythons at all though and have very different needs and are a little harder to get there husbandry correct compared to balls. This article by pro exotics explains everything! If your looking for something bigger than a ball but smaller than a retic there definitely the way to go.

Yeah something s bit bigger would be cool, and I def like their patterns too. I would love to get a baby retic but they aren't legal to own here in Fl unless u already owned one before they were outlawed and are grandfathered in.....I think imma get a blood or a pinstripe ball, I will let y'all know as soon as I make my mind up as with a blood I may need some help finding a good one!!!!

Gotta have girth? If that isn't set in stone, check out carpet pythons. Coastal jaguar carpets are amazing (IMO) and get a pretty decent size. Like bloods/stp, you gotta work with them a little more otherwise they can be nippy.

Girth wise check out Dumeril's boas and maybe the BCC boas and Argentines. The guy we get our feeders from has a large female Dum that has good girth on her and the BCCs and Argentines will usually bulk out/get larger than some of the smaller boas.

I would vote boa too. If its girth you want, get a female BCI, they typically get bigger than the males. Not as big as the bcc's, but still decent size. And boas are awesome! :)

AK, I have looked at carpets and they look really cool but most of them look the same to me and don't really have the kind of patterns I'm after, although I did see a really stunning girl at repticon.

Day, where can I find some of these on line to be shipped??

"True" red tail boas are the BCC boas such as Peruvians, Surinames, Guyanas, etc

Colombian BCI boas are commonly called "red tailed boas" though it's not totally correct IMO. I don't call my Colombians "red tailed boas".

Bet on at least a 4' cage for adults BCI boas, and I recommend 6' for adult females and large males. You can look into dwarf boas but sometimes they can get just as large as Colombians, and if they stay on the smaller side they might not have the girth you're looking for.

So if I see one listed as a rtb it's really a BCI?

No necessarily, it depends on what the ad says it is. If you're wondering about a particular snake I'd post up the link to the ad. If it says it's a Central American then it's a BCI (CAs tend to stay a little smaller than Colombians), if it says its a common boa that's usually a Colombian, if it says its a Suri then that's a BCC boa, etc.

Check out albino BCI's, they are really pretty, so are the sunglows.

I would recommend dumerils. They are by far my most favorite boa. I can't get over their ski mask pattern. Plus their temperments are awesome.
