Fire???
Just wanted to see if u guys see Fire in this little female? The owner says it's a Fire, it's not that its being said it's a normal and i see fire. Thanks

Possibly. Better pic would help. But just looking at it i would say normal or a lesser quality fire.

Re: Fire???
Its a nice bright snake. For a fire the head stamp is a little vague. Could be a fire but I'm not convinced.
-
I just don't really have alot of experience with this morph to know for sure & the pic quality is pretty bad.

Re: Fire???
it's hard to tell. but then again every fire i have seen has a very noticable head stamp.if you're looking to buy and you're unsure of it being a fire i'd pass.

No, even worse, they want to trade me for my male bee that's the same size.

Male bee for a fire???? That doesn't compute.....why would they think they could get a more expensive snake for a less expensive snake?? and why would you consider it? That thing looks normal to me....

I was asking for $$ on top, i passed on it.

It is possible I suppose that it was a fire, but if so it was certainly not an animal I'd want to own for breeding or any other reason. Fires should be easy to pick out, they should scream "anything but normal" like my own babies do.
People breeding poor quality to poor quality just to make a morph and hopefully turn a buck is why you see so many animals that are questionable at best as to the morph they represent.

that is good hold on to your bee.

If you can't tell what the morph is(if it is even a morph?), its a good indicator that you shouldn't buy the animal.....

Re: Fire???
Aside from the het fire talk...here's my two cents
Check out the quality of the picture. You wouldn't be able to see how clean it is. The color quality just isn't there on the picture, so I think the only way to tell would be to see it in real life.
Now, as for whether you want to trade your male bumblebee for her...that's only for you to decide. I wouldn't consider that an insulting offer, personally. If you were having trouble selling a male ball python, getting a female ball python of a morph that's really hot right now isn't insulting. You might decide that you don't want the trade, but I wouldn't say you're getting shafted necessarily. Let's say both are 300 grams. The fire would go for around $350, and I'm not as familiar with bumblebee pricing, but wouldn't that be around $400-450?
Anyways, I'm playing devil's advocate here because crappy picture does not a scam make.

Re: Fire???
I know this might seem a little off topic, but I am just learning about the different morphs. What does make a good fire? Pictures are always helpful.

Fire is 100% a color mutation, pattern varies as much as it does in normal ball pythons. They're easier to pick out with a good picture and there should be no doubt whatsoever when shown next to a normal. Ask for pictures outside when it's overcast for best results - too much sun is as bad as too much flash.
Top 3 snakes are fires of different "shades", middle snake is a normal for comparison:

Left snake is a normal next to a busy patterned fire and a more reduced fire:

If I were buying from an unknown source I'd want to know the pairing, see pictures of the adults and a couple clutch shots.

I would still pass on the snake unless you want her as a pet. Even if it was a fire, its not good quality fire. When breeding animals, you want to breed the best quality animals to get good quality offspring.
