    Good snake for pinkies
Hey guys, I've got a small bit of a problem. We found a high school 'friend' here that was willing to split with us on frozen feeders. And so I gave him the order I wanted, coming out to about a hundred rats in various sizes.
Well, not sure if he put the order in wrong, or if the site got the order wrong. But now I'm basically stuck with a whole bunch of pinkie mice I don't want to feed to the pythons. As long as they're eating rats, I'd like to keep it that way so I don't get any fussy feeders. I've tried just selling the bag, but no bites. Even for much lower then I bought it for. So...I don't really want it to just goto waste.

So my question is...what's a good type of snake that will chow down on pinkies for a while? So, something that stays small I suppose. Although, I'm sure we can double up on the meals if need be of course.

Is there something that I could end up putting on the same rack with the pythons after quarantine as well? That has the same temperature care? It's not a huge deal though. I have two different strips of Ultratherm on the rack that I'll be using, so not a problem if temps are different. Just wanted to see if there was something that could make it easier later.

I may be wrong, but I think hognose have very similar requirements as far as heat goes as bp's. And If you get a male, he'll be eating pinkies for a long time.

Try the western hognose. They like it around 91 or so for a hotspot.

They only require like a 2'x2'x2' cage... Come onnnn, you can find some room for only 8cuft of space! :)

Good thing you have the internet to help you learn about anything you'd like to know.

Kenyan sand boas are cool, and it would be eating pinkies for a while. Mine do fine with a 91 degree hot spot and are both very friendly. Males don't get much bigger than 100 grams but females can get up to 1000 grams in rare cases :)

Wow. The males really are small. o.o
How long do they generally stay on pinkies before moving on up? I know it's different for every snake, but in general.

Although, same can be asked of the hognose if anyone knows.

Mine just moved to asf fuzzies, and they're about a year old. They seem pretty small for their age though...
