Mystic Bee?
I need opinions! My mystic/ bumblebee eggs are hatching.... what do you think? Is this a mystic pastel? Or a mystic bee? It is pretty stripy toward the tail... anyone see spider here?
pictures at the link: http://www.iherp.com/Public/Animals/...PhotoID=252301
....and the clutch-mates.... are these just mystic? Or are they mystic pastels? I have never seen baby mystics before, these sure seem bright and white sided....

I'm no expert but I see pastel, not bee.

The first picture link looks like a nice pastel, not pastel mystic.
The 2nd picture link appears to show 2 mystics :gj:.

Agreed. I dont see any mystic pastels or mystic bees...
-
Not looking like mystic bees or mystic pastels to me. I see a pastel in the first picture, and an incredible looking pastel at that, and mystics in the second.
-
Looks like a Mystic Pastel. Those flames just aren't right for a normal Pastel if you ask me.

More pics!
Hi everyone! Thank you for the comments! Was out for the weekend, but I am back with more pictures! The last one to hatch from this clutch was a bumblebee, but what a bee! Have a look at these pictures and tell me what you think... Just a great bee? Or is this a mystic bee? Do normal bees have markings like this? And how about purplish heads like a super pastel?

Here's a picture of the pastel (mystic?) and a mystic comparing heads:

and here's one comparing one of the mystics, the pastel (mystic?) and the (mystic?) bee

Thanks for all the input! :)

That first pastel looks like a clean blonde pastel to me, thay would explain the high white flames and the peach coloring

Re: Mystic Bee?
what about that purple head? It can't be a super, Dad is a mystic, mom's a bumblebee.

Pastels often have purple blushes out heads.

any opinions on the bumblebee?
Is this just a great bee or is there something else going on here?

That bee is so clean!!! I love it! The white head, the flames...I think you hit it! :gj:
-
I think you hit the mystic bee on that last one there.
-
-
WOOT!!! :)
Now... the next question... am I first?
Has anyone else bred a mystic bee yet?
Can I brag? :D
-
First produced in 2010 by Santa Cruz Reptiles: http://www.worldofballpythons.com/mo...ic-bumble-bee/
You can tell the last one is a hit on the mystic because if you've ever seen a mojo bee... it does the same cleaning up and pale-ing of the color.

Is there Enchi here?
Still trying to figure out this girl's genes.... but have a look at this:
Lemon pastel Enchi:
http://newenglandreptile.com/cart/en...pied-2012.html
So could this be a lemon pastel ENCHI? Or perhaps even Mystic too? (those pale flames on the sides)
http://www.iherp.com/Public/Animals/...nimalID=112612
They have all shed, so I will get some more pictures of them posted soon. :)
-
That pastel is abnormally bright and clean. If it stays that way for another shed or two, I'd seriously suspect a BEL gene at work.
Ditto that bee. That bee is NUTS.
- - - Updated - - -
If there's no enchi going in, there will be no enchi coming out. But mystic pastels could easily be bright like enchi pastels. A lot of bright genes interact spectacularly with pastel.

Re: Mystic Bee?
Amazingly stunning mystic bee! :O
-
I have looked at a lot of lemon pastels.... I wonder if she's just a lemon pastel? :P

I just asked the breeder if there was perhaps more than pastel and spider in that bee. She is still bright and yellow even as an adult... so I wonder....
.... thanks for the input! :) I can't wait to see what she looks like after a few more sheds! Maybe she is a mystic pastel! :confuse:

Re: Mystic Bee?
I have a new question..... I am crazy, but thinking about selling my prize mystic bee. But I have no idea how much to ask for him. (turns out he's a boy)
Is this the right place/ is it ok to ask advice on this?
-
Re: Mystic Bee?
Oh.... and no enchi in the momma bee. ;)
-
Re: Mystic Bee?
I think I answered my own question. It seems most triple genes run in the neighborhood of 5 grand-ish.
