Just curious.. I want to get a boa someday.:D
Show me pictures of some adult boas in comparative size to a human.. Does anyone have an adult BCC?

Thanks! I haven't measured or weighed him in months, so my rough guess is at least 6' and over 6 pounds (since that's how much he weighed months ago). He's a big guy for his age though IMO, my other females are a lot smaller than him at their age vs how large he was at the same age.

Pinky (mice)? How many grams is he? Have you tried leaving them in with him overnight?

I've left one in overnight without any results. He refused Thursday night so I may try again tomorrow. I'm going to wait until midnight or so until he is cruising around.
Try a mouse, a hopper or weanling f/t. If I have a picky snake with rats I'll go to mice to get them going. Honestly I feed my boas mice until they get to be one year old then switch them to appropriate sized rats. I've read that it could be healthier to the snake than feeding rats off the bat but unfortunately I can't quote where I've read that. I've had luck with it though, so it's just preference.

I'm trying to avoid live at all costs. If he goes another 2 weeks I may resort to that.
Maybe you can try offering when he's hidden in a hide: wiggle it around at the entrance? Or if you want to see him searching for food then give him 2 weeks before offering. Sometimes offering too often can stress out the snake. A non feeding boa isn't that surprising: my little argie male refused his first meal for me so it's not totally uncommon, especially if they're young and/or still getting used to their new home.
