My new hog island boa!

She came today! Shes a super hypo (sunset) hog island boa. Shes even better in person! I love her insane coloring and that grey face of hers, such character. I cant wait to see what she will look like when she gets some size on her.
I was planning on getting a cool looking male boa just as a pet, then I saw this female and couldnt pass her up. lol it would almost be a shame not to breed her in the future. Oh well lol maybe someday. :D
We just happened to have the light booth set up and snapped a few photos.
So happy to have her...now I need a name for her...

I was under the impression there aren't any pure hog morphs... is it like 75% or do you know how high a percent? I'm really considering getting a pure hog pair, but just recently carpet pythons have really caught my attention. Glad I think this stuff through first :D Congrats on the sweet looking baby!

To my knowledge there aren't: hypo Hogs are Colombian x Hog (don't know the percentages as I haven't researched crosses). Having a pure Hog myself I would go with a pure pair. And I too am looking to get a carpet: a pure Coastal :)

OP: again, really nice snake with those reds. She'll be stunning when she grows!

Love her colors.

She's nice for a cross, but there's nothing like a pure Hog. Just look at those colors.

Should've just read further I guess. Lol. Chris is a great buddy of mine. His collection is top notch. I actually had the parents of that snake here for almost a year while he was in Iraq. The male that produced that litter is SMOKING to say the least.

They are 50% Hog and 50% Colombian produced from a Sunset Hog Male bred to a Hypo Hog female.
