    What's your BP's personality?
How would you describe your ball python? What makes him/her that special individual that you know and love? What are your BP's quirks? Any special markings?

I would say Gaia (so far, seeing as she is a baby) is quite a character in her own right. Though she has had a rough start in the world, what with a pet store wanting to euthanize her and basically writing her off, she is a sweet and trusting girl. She is a normal ball python. She is shy around strangers for about 15seconds, then, after I give her the 'go ahead' pet, she seems to feel free to get to know those new people around her. She is an avid explorer, though only if 'mom' is close. She slithers off, then comes back, then slithers off, and then comes back. I think that she may be a lost puppy disguised in a snakes body. Gaia loves to have me carry her stretched out, and occasionally wraps around me or balls up wherever we go. My favorite mark on her looks like a heart/Cobra's hood, very cute!

My pastel girl and spider boy are VERY friendly, and ALWAYS climb into my hand the second I stick it in their tub. My spider girl usually climbs into my hand, but has those days that she wants to stay in her hide. My big cinny boy is super chill and just lays around letting you do whatever you want to him. My 3 mojaves and my pinstripe are the most shy of them all, and also the youngest, so they are still pretty nervous, but will climb into my hand every now and then. Then my normal guy is in between.

My big male noraml is a total sweetheart. He is very chilled out and loves to explore. When I am handling him he loves to climb on my head and hide in my hair. My little male normal is still afraid of everything and will hiss sometimes. I still handle him and when he is out for a while he calms down and stops his bluffing, lol!

Skade is a sweetheart. She loves to cuddle more than anything, will slither around until she's perfectly comfortable and just lays there no matter what I do. She's a relaxed girl, though very head shy. She has several heart markings on her, and a couple markings that almost look like alien heads. She always comes out in a ball, until she tongue flicks a few times and realizes it's "mom" or "dad" (best friend) and than relaxes and sprawls out.
When she was overexcited to eat in front of me and after she bit me, she acted skittish for days afterwords like she sensed my discomfort. Sounds crazy, but it's like a strange connection between her and I. :) :snake::snake::snake:

Titan: Hes my gentle boy. When hes in his tank he likes to be hidden, which is good. But when hes out hes very curious. He likes to wrap around my neck and explore. He definetly has a sweet personality.

Azrael: He has been a shy boy since I got him. Hes even bit my husband a few times. He is calming down but he will get striky when he want to be put up. My husband handles him too much, but wont, listen when i say that it is stressing him out. He explores.when hes out and makes a nice bracelet lol. He has a timid personality but I think eventually he'll warm up.

Twizzler: He is my social butterfly. I can open his tub and he will come out of his hide and climb up my arm. He likes to rub his chin on my bracelet. When he wants to explore he curls his tail around my finger and never goes far from "momma." Hes very sweet and cuddly he will curl up by my face and lay there till I put him up. And he never wants to go back in his tub. I love his social personality.

Bobba Fett: he's my first and he's an absolute sweetheart. I have no qualms about reaching my hand right in the tank an just pulling him out. ;) I also have no fear of removing a mouse from his tank, even if hes looking right at me :p

Weedle: he's my fat lil piggy and is always moving. He's my first Bp to hiss at me, and it's so adorable Ahaha. He tries to act all tough.

Satyana: she's very head shy, but doesn't mind being held. She's only hissed at me once or twice, and that was when I had to move her fat butt to put her water dish back in her tub.

Shayla: totally headshy, but she's pretty good about just chillin around my neck. She loves to move about on the floor.

Avalon: my only Bp that hides under her newspaper. I haven't held her much, but she seems quite calm.

Back when I had several BPs, they were each very different. :) My het albino male was a big bundle of attitude, hissing and puffing up all the time if you so much as opened his enclosure. My two normal girls were shy, but accepted handling with grace and dignity. :) My spider girl was a spunky little thing, always raring to go whether it was eating or being taken out and handled.

But my one remaining BP, Sunspot the lemon pastel...he's my special boy. He 'likes' me, (heck, I'm the one that saved his life) but likely as a result of the treatment he got from his first owner, he HATES being touched. After years of patience, I've finally got him to stretch out and look around when I hold him. He still hisses in a ball when I reach in, but he's learning to relax in hand. It's slow going, but he's worth it. :D

Our BP is a Diva and quirky. She likes ride imperiously around coiled around your hand and when fed expends the least possible amount of effort (will not move out of hide, but when the food is placed right in front of her on the tongs, she always feeds). If she poops, she will not go into the hide its in at all until we clean it out, so we always know when she has because we'll find her sitting on top of the hide. She's very friendly, but clearly thinks that we are there to serve her.

    Re: What's your BP's personality?
We have determined through much highly scientific cuddling and cooing, that Millie, our 3 month old normal little girl, is the best snake ever. Or at least that's what our 9 year old thinks!

As soon as we start to unlatch her enclosure, Millie climbs up her branch to the top of her tank, then crawls right out into our hands the moment it's open. She's very inquisitive and likes to cruise around, but is completely relaxed about being handled. In fact she's gotten so relaxed in general, that the only time she even balls up at all is when she's digesting. Even in her tank she'll simply fold herself in half or just stretch out to nap, rather than live up to her name!

Millie possibly thinks she is a tree python, since she spends almost as much time up on her branch as off of it. We are joking about building her a ball python habitrail... unless someone has some DIY plans for one, in which case I totally want to see them!

    Flikky
    Re: What's your BP's personality?
Normal male Flikky: Always exploring and trying to get into things. Always wants out and likes to sit on top of heads

Spider boy Scales: Always looking for food but once out of his tank he loves to tie himself in knots around wrists. He's my bracelet snake

Pastel girl Iris: Extremely shy. Never moves much when taken out; stays in her little ball

    I love my snakes :D

I have everything from sweet and cuddly to mean as heck, and everything in between. They all have different personalities :)

Will is a glutton. He was being fed exclusively live when I got him, and immediately transitioned to f/t. It literally took him about fifteen seconds to identify and strike his mouse. He's been moved up to rat pups, and he strikes so fast that I honestly don't think he's noticed that he's being fed something different. Last Sunday, I screwed up on thawing his rat, and it got sopping wet. Again, I don't think he even noticed. I think that Will would eat until he popped, and he always seems to expect more food after his rat, which isn't going to happen, because he swells up like a blimp with what he's being fed already.
He is the most docile and inquisitive animal that I have ever met. He loves to come out of his tub in the evenings and crawl around everywhere that he can. One of his favorite things to do is to rub his face on my hands and face, and then stick his snout in my ear. He also enjoys climbing, and has a tendency to perch like a green tree python.

Pandora : Calm and tame but always keeps an eye on you. Resists coming out of her tub but is perfectly fine out of it.

Cthulhu : Shy, shy, shy. If I pick him up he balls up and tucks his head. If I feed him he balls up and tucks his head. If I have him out for a bit he starts to un ball though.

Odin : Mr. Hissy pants more like it. He will hiss if you touch him and ball up and if you make any movement thats faster then a turtle he will flinch but for some reason he will still come to my hand and up my arm when I open the tub.

Calypso : Used to be a sweet heart but is starting to show her mean side. But she is only like that when she is in her tub. Mellows out when she is out of it.

Freyja : Biggest sweet heart of all time. Perfectly mellow and calm. Comes to your hand when you reach in the tub and crawls up it. Lets you manipulate her in anyway. Can be out for an hour and will still refuse to go back in her tub.

Aurora, Nova and Andromeda are brand new so I havent had them out yet but so far :

    Andromeda is very watch full.

Aurora lets you do anything to her and is very calm.

    Nova is kinda skittish.

last but not least is my newest member Kronos.

He is a grumpy little derp! Tries to bite me as much as possible. He hasnt been successful yet. But he tries his hardest. Little Mr. Grumpy pants he is.

I read this thread the other day and thought about it. I have a number of animals and thought if I could describe each different personality with one word.

    Magnus-inquisitive
    Orion-shy
    Legion-timid
    Juno-serene
    Corvus-cautious
    Orphelia-distrustful of strangers
    Isis-pugnacious
    Lucy-trusting
    Caprica-wary
    Wiggles-placid
    Venus-exuberant

I don't have a favourite I enjoy them all and their personalities. Lucy has a special place however she was born with a birth defect and very small (twin) she has a single eye a mis formed head and has such a calm demeanour, it is hard to describe, she is hands down the single most calm animal of any sort I have ever seen.

Monty is quite inquisitive once he is out of his tub, but always flinches away when I go to pick him up. The bumblebee is a bit more outgoing, but if I accidentally move too fast near her head, she won't move for a bit afterwards. Both of them are really good sports about handling, I just wish I could get them to come out and see me when I open the cage! I have no idea how you guys do that!

Mine range from one that is purely hateful to one who seems to be a reincarnated basset hound. They're all different.

All of my snakes and reptiles have their own personalities. We try to work with them a lot to ensure they know us as well.
