Thinking of getting a Ball Python again.
So before i had 2 and i kind of snuck them into my room at home because my dad didnt like snakes. He found out 1 day and i sadly had to get rid of them. (good homes of course). Now tho, i moved out and in my own duplex house and thinking of getting another ball python. i just dont know which id get. 1 of my favorites is the bumblebee, but its a lil much, i think brian at bhb has them for 325 for male which really isn't bad compared to a few years ago. I was also thinking a spider, mojave, enchi oor a pinstripe. I'm kinda deciding between the spider and pinstripe but i dont know. Any thoughts/ suggestions? Happy to be back at this site.

It really depends on what you want lol.

I would go with a pinstripe myself for two reasons.

    1. Spider morphs are super super common, and are even starting to end up on pet store shelves. I'm amusing you want something a bit more unique and frankly everyone has a spider.

    2. Spiders are prone to have a wobble, which really isn't a detriment to them but it can cause some disorientation and missed strikes if your feeding live. With that said, there is nothing wrong with the spider morph, and the wobble doesn't stop it from doing all the normal things that any other ball python can do, it's just something to be aware of.

Ultimately you have to chose something that speaks to you. But Pinstripes are just as cool IMO and make some pretty neat morphs.

    Goodluck!

    Chris.

the reason i like the spider morphs, is cause they have that goldish look to them and the sweet black spider markings make it look even better, but i like the bumblebee specially when you breed them higher like queenbee and all, but i was looking at Bhb's website and saw the pinstripe and it doesn't seem too expensive and i'm starting to like them. The reasons i been really only looking at bhb's collection is cause where i moved to, is only like 45 min from his place and it would save me on shipping costs and hes such a nice guy. Im somewhat leaning towards the pinstripe if i decide not to get the bumblebee tho.

Queenbees are pretty sweet! There are some awesome Pin combos too though. These are my favourites: (I plan to breed pins over spiders so I've been doing research LOL)

Duplex? Check with your landlord first to make sure that they won't throw you out for having a snake. If they allow pets, sometimes they freak out about which pets you keep. Before I moved, I double checked the pet policy and stated up front that I would not move without my animals. They are allowed to usually charge you with the pet policy... will you pay it?

THEN consider getting a ball python of your choice. I know... responsibility isn't the best lecture when you're drooling over a snake you want, but it's better than the heartache of giving up a pet.

I'm partial to lessers, cinnamons, jigsaws... but that's me.

well its a duplex house, but the only thing the people ever said before, was 1 cat and 1 dog,, so really, they only care about cats and dogs, never said anything about a reptile, so i dont think they'll have a problem with it, and its not like the old man is going to randomly come into my house for no reason, but as far as i know, reptiles are perfectly fine

You could ask their policy on "caged animals" like a small lizard. That might not freak them out as much as that horrible word "python" that everyone is so afraid of.

Love pins and pin combos! In fact, I got my first pin this weekend @ a local expo. She has a full stripe on her back and crazy patterns.

If it's between a spider and a pin - get a spinner if it is within your budget.
Jigsaws are also amaze-balls (another pin combo as mentioned earlier)

i saw the spinners and they actually look pretty sweet, idk, i wont be getting one for another month cause im low on cash seeing this month has been a pain with moving, and going back to where i lived for my brothers wedding and all bleh, buut i honestly would love to try and breed as a hobby, but i'll keep checking prices and morphs, still think im stuck between a spider and pinstripe. Yes spider is getting more popular and all, but their webbing marks are sweet and anything you breed them too just look amazing (to me) i recently just been looking at morphs for the pinstripe and im liking them, but we'll see. :)
