i hate being one of those "balls only" tables at a show even though i have some leos and ksb, anyway what is a RARE python that i should work with? something cool that not a lot of people have? thanks.

Angolans just look soooo cool! Plus devildog_dk made the comment that when you hold them it feels like a cobblestone street so ive been like scouring expos trying to find one to hold. I WANNA FEEL IT!

If you are looking into less common Aussie snakes, Womas, Bredlis, Macklotts, Spotteds and Childrens pythons. Larger ones would be Diamond Pythons and, if you can find them, maybe Olive pythons...

Womas are pretty cool and have a decent market that goes along with them. We've had Macklotts/Childrens at the shows with us and we usually end up bringing them back home with us. I find that they are a niche snake and unless someone is specifically looking for one they don't decide to pick one up based on the temperment and looks of the snake at the show, just my opinion.
Check out Kara's Blood Pythons, those would sure pump up the curb appeal of your booth at a show. One of my favorite display animals are juvenile frilled dragons. Tons of character! :gj:

I have some diamonds..... I really want those Angolans or some womas/white lipped

Thanks for that info... :gj;

My vote would be on water pythons and scrub pythons as long as you aren't in Ohio. Scrubs are now banned :(

It's going to be Angolans for me too. Planning to pick me up a pair this fall and/or spring. :gj:
If you like womas, take a look at blackheaded pythons. Gorgeous animals and more rare/impressive than even the womas. My hubby is interested in them.... ;)

Re: wanna get something unique...
I have a woma that I picked up from Bob Clark and she's awesome. I would definitely suggest them as a snake to work with. Easy to keep, great feeders, easy to breed and the just look awesome! Good luck making a descision:)

I've always had an interest in Haitian boas (I know, not a python) but they are interesting.
-
I already have an Angolan and plan to get a girl for him, so I would vote white lipped pythons. I would like to work with those someday.

Mike beat me to it.
Angolans are my dream snake to work! I've been trying to get my hands on some for a while now, it's pretty much impossible in Canada.

Who did you get yours from?
I always keep my eyes open for them at the white plains expo but have yet to see one. I dont plan on buying one, i just need to hold one to see what it feels like thanks to your bf lol.

I've decided, I'm getting a pair of Angolans

Chad Duggin, got my Hog from him too. They do feel cool! Retics too: he says they feel like satin (not satan lol) which is a very good description of their feel too!

Cool!
Hmmm, baby bps skin is pretty smooth too. That doesnt sound quite as interesting as cobblestones though. I dont really see myself ever owning a snake that big, angolans are more my size :gj:

Woma's for the win! I just got rid of 90% of my carpet collection to get into Spotted & Children's along with Woma's and Savu python's.

I like angolans and boelens pythons.
-
Boelens pythons, or bismark ringed pythons if you can find them.
-
I've said it before in another thread but I'm gonna say it again just to get Mike going.... Angolan scales are really the coolest thing you can feel, its like cobblestones on a miniature scale.
If you want something even more unique go with a Savu or White-lipped, rarely see anyone working with them.

I just spent about an hr researching these and now I really want one... you suck!

Boelens are both beautiful and impressive, but apparently it's very difficult to get them to reproduce reliably in captivity. I wouldn't count on being able to produce them at all, let alone consistently.

Savus have my vote! Very nice smaller pythons with that rainbow iridescence to them, love it
-
I love my Timor Pythons... very smart and interesting to work with
-
Which is one of the reasons suggested them. Not many people work with them because of that, but it can be done. If your up for a challenge its a great option.
