And not just because the calendar says that Spring officially starts tomorrow.

Spotted the first Mediterranean House Gecko on the porch last night. My "sure sign of Spring" is when the Geckos start coming out of hibernation.

We should soon have more Geckos hanging out on the porch that you can shake a stick at. When it happens, I'll try and get a good picture of them to post.

    You lucky dawg.

Yeah, Spring is here. I still gotta wait for the snakes to come out tho. And before all my UVB lovers can get a taste of the real stuff. The balls love the grass too.

I know this is a dumb question but can't your bp catch mites and such playing in the grass???
I wanted to let mine out in the summer as the weather here in DC in the summer is prefect bp weather but I was afraid they might catch something
    ie mites ticks etc??
I really would love to take him outside for a "walk" so to speak :)

Saw a couple of garter snakes last week, I couldnt believe that they were allready starting to come out. It was 52 degrees the day we saw them. Got a picture of one, but you can barely see the garter in it. Just cant wait for it to get warm so I can start taking Monty Joe out for a cruise.....

I cant wait now. There is so much to explore in Arkansas(the natural state)! Does anyone know where I can buy a snake hook?

Hey, I didn't know you were here in GA, too. I declared it spring a couple of weeks ago when I started getting regular serenades from the tree frogs. :)

Hey freak...I'll be moving to Alabama this summer. Marla and I have plans to meet at the Birmingham show...probably in September. You should come, too!

i am there... marla how far is it?

I'm not going to be the best one for that, I'm afraid. So far the show in Birmingham is the only one I've been to, though i would like to go to Tampa this year if I can work it out, and am watching the Carolinas for shows as well. I understand there's discussion of starting a new show in Greenville that I'd want to go to.

well, can you let me know when you found anything out? is there a website?

Oh, I was answering your previous post. Birmingham is about 2.5 hrs west of atlanta, 2 hours if they'd fix the Alabama highways. :) The website is http://www.dixiereptileshow.com.

so abotu 4.5 hours for me from augusta, not bad. Could I take interstate 20 all the way?

Sure enough, almost to the front door of the show. There's only a couple of turns to get to the show once you're off 20. It's held in the UAB student center. It is a small show, though, so don't expect anything tremendous.

what show are you going to? there is one may 8

I was tempted to go tomorrow, but i think my daughter might get mad if she had to miss her first boy's birthday party for that. Judy and i are tentatively planning to meet at the September show, but that doesn't mean i won't go before then, and May is a definite possibility.
