Boarderlands 2, PC, Who's playing, and you can get it for $36!
Ok guys wanted to start this thread for 3 reasons.
1) Who's playing Borderlands 2 on PC?
2) www.greenmangaming.com has the digital download available for $36 right now when you add to cart and use the voucher 6XBSQ-6UQSQ-4XPDP-86HYD-6WBL2 - Don't represent the company, just super excited since I was about to pay nearly $60 from amazon . . . they send you a Steam unlock code and you plug it in and it goes! PLUS includes all prepurchase bonuses
3) Bump those Steam ID's so people can connect!
psn_reptileexperts is me, and I'll be playing Borderlands 2 starting Tuesday! Already installed.

I'm really excited about it!! I loved the first game.
My steam ID is satomi325, but the gamer tag is Aries.

I got it for the 360... sorry to be the buzzkill lol
-
I preordered off steam and I'm working on preloading it. No idea how long it'll take though, especially since my internet is being crap, which means I probably won't get to coop.
My steam id is: raptor_girl

Meh, had I not had the 360 controller for my gaming laptop, I would've done the same since most of my friends are actually doing it on the 360 for a change of pace . . . to each their own!

Took me about an hour on cable to get it downloaded and pre-loaded.

My download speeds are all over the place. It'll spike up to the mid 300s KB/s, and then drop down to 0.
-
Yikes! Could make boss fights problematic! I'll add ya anyways :-)
-
I tried playing borderlands once, then i took an arrow to the knee...

Ah, but mine is a classic. Yours is just overused.

Man, more 360 love . . . starting to question my decision . . . then again I travel too much, and playing borderlands on the plane beats not playing at all ;-)

If you say so...

We're picking it up for 360! Very excited. My boyfriend and I play video games together for our 'stay at home date nights'. We usually order a pizza, or I'll make delicious supper that we can eat on the fly and we'll game for hours. Borderlands is our favorite. We've run through the campaign 3 times now and we're currently on our 4th. It's such a hilarious game.
One of my boyfriend's catchphases is: "How do you like them apples?!"
And during the extended game with the Claptrap Revolution, he defeated a group of them and used his catchphase, and not even a few seconds later, one of the other claptraps attacked him and yelled the same catchphrase.
I was crying I was laughing so hard.
As such, we have booked off time from work to play it together. So. Excited
Annnnd my gamer nerd side is showing... >_>

Meh. Don't like the 360. Too many cons vs pros when it comes to the 360 vs pc. Add on the fact that the controller is clunky and the fact that the thing still won't talk to the router even after three years of owning the thing..It's easier to get it for PC. Besides, a mouse for a FPS is much more intuitive than a controller.

I never got into PC gaming. Then again, I'd have to purchase a new computer in order to game with it. And then I couldn't play split screen with my other half. Since I value my time with my partner moreso than user managability of PC, it doesn't bother me. I have more fun goofing around with him than I would playing alone in my office.
To each their own, for sure. If it was just about gaming by myself, I could probably appreciate it. Gaming with my other half? It's too much fun sitting on the couch beside him and bantering back and forth, haha.

Haha i definetly see your point here. My bro does online gaming. I have big hands so the xbox controller feels good for them. I cant do PS3, controller feels way too awkward and tiny in my hands. I cant do PC gaming bc im not coordinated enough for that many buttons and stuff. I guess im just too used to the 360 lol.

Me too

Man, the 360 users outweigh the PC . . . and you can game on a PC with your spouse. Just look at how many couples play games like World of Warcraft together, and probably now play guild wars 2 together. Back when I was dating a girl that gamed, we'd just hop on WoW together when we wanted to game, or we did Borderlands all the way through the expansions, and then we started playing call of duty till she rage quit the relationship . . . none the less. It can be done, just requires two good PC :-)

Haha. See my PC is a desktop that's hooked up to all my art hardware in my room. Corded printer, tablet, speaker set-up, keyboard. And there's no room for another person to haul up a table in my room and sit down.
Good in theory, but with what equipment we have right now and what we'd have to change... It's just a bit much to tweak around. Our limited space makes it even harder.
Rage quit the relationship? Sorry to hear that, although I did chuckle at the phrase. Describes perfectly how a lot of relationships end.
We play Call of Duty on the couch. Although, I wanted to play MW2 last night and there's no split screen. I joked about setting up our spare xbox in the spare bedroom so we could game. That didn't go over too well, haha. So we just took turns hauling and back-seat-driving the gameplay. "On your left! No your other left! Put your claymore out. Ohhh that wasn't a good spot"
-
Black Ops 2 should bring back Split Screen online, as Did MW3. so that's exciting! And Yes, rage quitting the relationship is a very true statement in every sense. Not that it bothers me, I soon after started dating my best friend, and we've been together since. However, she's not a gamer, but loves to watch TV while I game, so we still manage to use it as a way to spend time together.

Split screen is horrible. Unless you have a super huge tv, it's impossible to see anything. Not to mention, it takes the challenge out of finding the person since you can just look at the other screen.

Or you could just plug your 360 controller into your computer.

Nope. I'm just not a PC gamer :P Plus we only play on the same team. We don't typically PvP either. If you're going from full screen to split screen, yep, it's a difference. I've only ever done split screen with my other half for certain games (Black Ops and Borderlands), so really, I'm not missing out, haha.

This is how my boyfriend and I PC game. (For the record, he copied me.... I built my PC years before him....)

Pretty much just noticed that 80% of the people who responded to this post are female . . . oddly I thought boarderlands was geared toward male players .
-
Haha Borderlands is geared towards anyone that loves spending time doing stupid stuff trying to jump and/or seeing what you can run over in a vehicle.
Ed: yes i'm guilty of both, spent a retarded amount of time trying to jump the vehicle off stuff in the first game.

You would be surprised at the number of female gamers. It's an idiotic stereotype that gaming is only for males. Many "male geared" games actually have a number of female players. Tomb Raider, for example, is a platformer with a gratuitous display of T&A. I've played the series since it was on PS1 and the first game came out.
-
I play with mostly guys.
Other than myself, I personally don't know more than 1-2 other female gamers.
One time I was playing Left 4 Dead and joined an all female team. I have to admit that it was EPIC. haha.
-
Lol I was referring to those who replied to this topic in general. Last time I started up a game thread mainly males responded. But it was more general. There are a ton of female gamers out there no denying that. Even though most genres are now being geared specifically toward men. Women are representing a vast majority of the gaming community.
Having Said that. Who's up for some BL2 tonight??
-
I tried that voucher code, it was not valid
-
It was valid on time I posted. No idea when the expiration was, but me and a few of my friends picked it up for 36 :-) sorry to know it's no longer valid!!! I'll try and see if I can find another code.

Been playing GW2 lately... I'm so tired of buying new games I didn't pick up Borderlands 2... preordered D3, GW2, SWTOR, BF3, and god knows how many others, and yet I still play League of Legends most of the time.... so yeah figured it'd be a waste of money. I'm going to LA to watch the LoL championship though :D anyone else play league?
-
Nope, I am in a LoL league though . . . I stopped playing, but it's a local group of people from around me that play. We all play GW2 though, although I can't rememeber the server off the top of my hand, though it took me a while to get into my guilds server thanks to it always staying full!! BL2 is good fun, I'm enjoying it a lot more than I was GW2 but still palying what I can when I can
