What would you buy with $15,000?

So lets say, hypothetically speaking, you fell into some money. Let's say you wanted to spend $15,000 on a few higher end ball python morphs. What would you buy? What would you buy if you could only buy one snake? What would you buy if you were to buy a group of 3 to 7 snakes? Let's also say you only have one bp at the moment. A proven male pastel.

Thats easy just get some combo breeder females. One can never have enough breeder females.

first a engagement ring for my gf; then some bps lol.
firefly pied female adult,vanilla enchi female adult, those would work perfectly with my plans and keep me content for a few seasons.
and those would go great with a pastel male

coral glow if possible. and a pied. opp sexes.

If I could buy a few higher end morphs.. I'd buy a 1.1 pair of lavender albinos and a 1.1 pair of pied x some co-Dom morph.

If I could only buy one I'd buy a male lavender. It's really all I want and if I'd been thinking straight a few years ago when I had the money to invest, I'd have had them long ago.

When I was kinda in that position on a smaller scale a few months back, I called Mike Wilbanks. I said I have $xxxx and want to know, with my current collection..... what would you recommend and why?

I ended up with a 1.0 FireButter and a 0.1 FireFly. Mike is the "Fire King" and these snakes are perfect in every way and chowing rat pups. They've more than doubled weight in just two months!!

I'm thinking Pastel Yellowbelly Pied male and a pastel calico yellowbelly female for starters

Oh man, I'd definitely grab myself an ultramel, some sort of simple leopard combo , a super fire, and a lavender albino which I think would only come to around $10000 and then I'd use the rest to help make rent for a few months! Haha.

15k? I would buy a huge rack system a giant enclosure for my RTB. and enough supplies to keep me going for a long time!

My dream project would have to be the puzzle ball. I just absolutly freaking love those things. Next would be some enchi pied stuff, and then alot of two and some three gene snakes. Mojave bumblebee, firefly pin, black pastel stuff, pastel spector, fire yellowbelly, female axanthic, and some other yellowbelly combos. First though, would be an ARS rack and stuff to go with it.

I don't think i would spend 15k on one snake, but a few of them, only a pastel male? he becomes a pet. I would spend around 10k on as many clown females as I could buy. Then later buy 1 or 2 high end clown males with the other 5k.

caging is bought. rent is paid for. all girl friends have rings. what you have left is $15,000 to spend SOLELY on a higher end breeding group of ball pythons.

Same response, except I would add a special spinner, and a red stripe. Those are pretty much all of my wants.

Also, I agree that the male pastel would automatically be a pet.

When I moved I had to let go of all of my snakes. Landlord wouldn't allow snakes. If I had more time to find a place I would have looked harder. I convinced her to let me keep one. My 6 year old male pastel ball python, Leroy. For some reason I have become really attached to this one and I've kept hundreds upon hundreds, maybe thousands, of snakes over the years. I would have to send him a little action every now and again! ;)

A male Ultramel and a couple of Dom and Co-Dom Het Ultramel :gj:

Who has ultramels? I emailed Justin Kobylka about some double hets, pied/ultramel.

I have no interest on breeding so I would just buy snakes I think are good looking. First would be a BEL. Then definitely some form of Lemonblast. Then a champaign combo.

Shes doing great! I changed my mind and am keeping her on live for now. Im hoping if she does go for me this year that after she lays ill be able to convert her to f/t. Its really not a huge inconvenience for me right now since shes my only one. :)

Clown, ultramel, lavender albino. If I come by a wad of cash thats what I would get. I dont think I would spend 15k on a single snake. Call me crazy but I am not interested in banana/coral glow.

I wouldn't buy one snake with 15k. I would buy 5-10 adult breeder single/double morph females, and a male in the 5-7k range. There's so much stuff it's all really on what you'd want to get, but investment wise, you can pick up a variety of different things with the same plan I mentioned. You can really do a lot with adult morph females and a high end male.

3-7 snakes anything with 3 genes and orange ghost. I'm super well over 2k a piece.

With a proven pastel... A few females that are either super pastel and multi Dom gene'd or just pastel with multi! :-) I love orange ghost. So if I had a dream snake!!!! Super Pastel Orange Ghost Fire Banana! Think of the possible orange!!!!!!!! I'm not sure if super fire would work. :-) but it sounds good!!!! Oh and maybe Spider'ed!!!! ;-)

I would buy a male tri-stripe and het female.

I would look at one of the bigger breeders' wholesale price lists and pick up a pair of bananas and with the money that was left over, I would get a lavender albino spider male.

I'd pay off one of my credit cards, then with the leftovers I'd get a clown.

I would get a Mojave GHI male and 8-10 big normal girls... produce with that and you can trade for every thing else you want...

I would invest in some "as flawless as can be" super cinny females or like mentioned double and triple gene females to go with some co-Dom males, a large reach in freezer and as many rats in varying sizes.

I am almost certain the most profitable way to spend that cash would be to invest in one of the newer morphs that isn't going anywhere like the banana male or some other male and about 10 or more normal females. IDK if banana males are in that range, but a hot new co-dom morph male and a bunch of normals is my answer.

This is tough. I started to add up what all I would want, and I can't seem to think that expensive haha. I spent my money in little chunks =p.

I would definitely want a pastel clown female. I would want another enchi lesser female (or heck, even a pastel lesser enchi..) I thought about a lesser clown, but I would want my clown to have pastel in it, so I can hit on a super pastel clown combo, rather than a super less clown combo, which would be a white snake lol.

I would also want an enchi fire and a vanilla cream spider pair

I would also get an enchi champagne to go with my pastel special girl :D.

Or I could skip all the low/medium end stuff and get a GHI... I've wanted a GHI for so long.. banana combos are nice 'n all, but GHI is the best to me. I love the golds and dark coloration.

Black heads, black backs, green pastels (or a complete blush back), lessers, mojave, my own dinker project, cinnamon, daisy... if it ever finishes out of dinker... (Did you see it?), and clowns

And to be obtuse, small boas, most likely a BCI (Nicaraguan or Hogg Island) or a durmeril... you didn't say ball pythons... you said snakes.

I like the darker morphs... usually. Though I want a BEL too, thus the mojave/lesser.

Rest can be donated to snake rescue groups. 'cause I believe in that.

Pieds are my favorite. As Courtney put it, they are my "heart snake". I like that.

What do you all think about an Ultramel pied? Banana pied?

I think if I had 15,000 I would remodel an entire bedroom into a Burmese Python terrarium. Complete with furniture, humidifier, feeding room, and heat system. Also a large well bolted door to prevent any unsafe incidents.

I am in a similar... Predicament? xD No where near that much $ though.

But with $15k I'd make sure I had quality racks first (if you plan on breeding soon a hatchling rack wouldn't be a bad idea to get while you have the cash) and a good incubator if I planned on breeding that year. And any other necessities (bedding, hides, food) Then I'd start looking at what to get.
But I def would want a Suma, though I'm not sure what they are going for right now. But it seems like a good substitute for a super black pastel for me (haven't heard of any problems with the Suma's and genetic deformities. I'd also invest in some newer or rarer morphs (specter, leopard, orange dream are some of my favorites)

EVERYTHING is covered! Racks, bedding, bowls, heat, t stats, tongs, food, freezers, cameras, everything BUT snakes.

Some really great ideas though. Digging the ultramel and banana.

$15,000 to spend only on a small breeding group. You can only buy snakes. Nothing else.

I just ordered a bunch of balls from Justin, and that included 2 het ultamels. I love those guys, but I can't afford the actual ones now. So I plan on breeding them to some morph females I have, and make some awesome ultramel combos in the next few years from the possible hets. So much to do on them still...


Also, that het sunset idea is probably the best idea if you could get them... even a lone het male.

1. Those will probably be one of the most desirable morphs in the future.
2. Its a recessive trait, so it will maintain value much longer than any other type of trait
3. Its brand new! The possibilities are (cliche alert) endless... you can do almost anything with them and it will come out amazing. Hypo sunsets will probably be ridiculous lookin babies!!!

Another amazing morph that has just started: The Monarch Ball. Brand new, hardly anyone has them, and they look so cool!

1.Those are new
2. They don't brown out as adults
3. There are still no combos of them in existence. I wonder what it would look like in Zebra Bees, Caramel Axanthics, lighting pieds, or axanthic clowns?!?

How about an Ultramel Banana? Might get some cool red/orange/pink/yellow outta' that.
