Aggression during shed

I purchased a 100g female cinnamon recently and it went into shed and went from mild mannered to pure evil. It lasted untill couple days after she shed and ate. Is this normal? She bites every chance she gets as my roommates can attest to. (They thought it was hilarious a tiny snake could cause that much blood lol) She's ate again and back to normal mild mannered self. Just thought it was interesting.

My buddies cinny is pretty aggressive as well. Even since it was a baby instead of balling up it always strikes. My normal is not like that at all. As a matter of fact I know she was going to hit shed soon because he black starts getting a faint blue tinge. I novices it when I fed her 2 days ago I pulled her out today to see how she was and behold she's in blue. But she never has struck at me.

Could be your little guy might have been feeling some stress what's the setup temps / humidity? Is he in a high traffic zone? Does he get handled a lot by others them you?

When a snake goes into shed they become nearly blind and the shedding process leaves then feeling very vulnerable. because of this is is highly recommended that you leave them alone throughout the shedding process. For their benefit as well as yours lol.

I think the term would be "defensive", not so much "aggressive".

X2 on leaving them alone. You ever feel like you are "crawling out of your skin"?

Irritable time for our scaly friends

Once I notice pink belly, I just leave them be until they shed. My one pastel though, she will let you know before she even gets pink. All of a sudden she is grumpy and snapping, and I wonder what her problem is, next thing you know she gets pink belly and goes into shed.

Mine doesn't get the pink belly so much just the blue tinge in the black but today when I noticed she was in blue I released her back to her enclosure. Now I haven't any snakes to handle because the boa is grumpy because of RI and normal girls shedding :(

My wife is grumpy when she is um... 'shedding' at least the human female version of shedding. I think in snake terms it is likely similar. Reduced vision, uncomfortable, vulnerable... I would be too.
