    Puma Babies!
Just hatched some pumas from my puma male to a yellowbelly female and to an orangebelly female. I'd forgotten how much color they have when they hatch. First up is a female puma from the orangebelly mom, and next is a puma male from the yellowbelly mom. Looks like the orangebelly puma babies are a little darker (though it's hard to compare because of the photo), but it will be interesting to see how they develop as they grow. Also, the yellowbelly clutch is a little older, and the babies do brighten over time.

There goes my theory about orangebellies making darker pumas! Here is another female from the puma x orangebelly clutch. She's not as dark as her sister. I'll have to see how they look after they have their first shed.

Thanks everyone for your kind replies! Albey, good luck with your clutch!

Oops, forgot to post the photo of the lighter puma made from the orangebelly. Her lower sides are really light. I'm trying to see if there are differences in the pumas of the two clutches, but it's hard to tell with such a small sample size. Much of it is probably just individual variation.

Ah, but first I need to decide who is staying, and that could be a while. I'm enjoying them too much right now...
