    Yellow jacket sting
So yesterday I was at the drive thru and a yellow jacket decided I haven't been stung in awhile I need a good sting. So here is the aftermath today. I've been keeping honey bees since I was 8 or 9 and have never received a sting quite this severe. http://img.tapatalk.com/aee44299-a993-805f.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/aee44299-a9b0-2327.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/aee44299-ae57-acb2.jpg

Got ya good, didn't it? :gj:

Are you sure it was a yellow jacket? Could it have been a European wasp or paper wasp?

Ouch! When I get stung, the area puffs up like a balloon and it burns and itches profusely. I would much rather take a bite from one of my snakes any day!

I was stung in the drive thru at a fast food restaurant I'm not exterminating their problem without a fee lol. Sorry for being a baby, I was just impressed by the amount of swelling, I'll never speak of it again until some one else comments lol.

Verdi? The snake book? I have only seen the book but never read it. Looks like a book to add to my son's collection.

That is an impressive amount of swelling! I'm not going to call you a baby, haha. I turn into a total sissy around wasps of any kind. Show me a spider and I'm instantly like: "Ohh let me see it!" Even out in the bush, spiders don't scare me.

One wasp flies too close to my soda? Lose it, snap, flip my chair and bolt. Most graceful thing in life.

I love wasps, hornets, yellowjackets, etc., but I've been stung numerous times as well. Got stung by three of them this summer trying to move their nest from our porch without harming them, and my hand swelled up so much that I couldn't move my fingers.
The only advice I have is to put ice on it, it won't do anything to heal it, but it'll blunt the pain, if it's bad.

I don't love them but certainly do find them interesting, especially their venom. Now if I find a nest they are as good as dead.

I do love my honey bees though.
