A 18+ fourm?

I tried to search the fourms to see if there was one with no luck. I dont think it would be a bad idea if the idea has been shot down before. I feel that having a fourm where u dont have to worry about posting a curse word that will offend someone is much needed lol. I recently found a very funny video and tried to post it but in the sub titles there were curse words so i got a infraction (i deserved it) and felt like there should be a place where the good hearted people can play and laugh without spankings from the Mods. Dont get me wrong u all are good people and i give every mod kudos, but im a guy, and not very PC at times and i think having a place to rant would be awesome!!!!

They have "The Quarantine Room" here. Need admin approval to enter. Sounds like what you are looking for.

You have to explicitly join the group, before you can even see the forum, and then its not on the admins shoulders as the person explicitly took the steps to join, and admins do not have to scan drivers licenses. :rolleye2:

We are a Family friendly Repitle based forum..no need for an 18+ forum to me..there's nothing adult rated about reptile husbandry or breeding.. Soo yea.. just my two cents

x2. I mean the only thing i can think of is swearing. In person i can have a potty mouth but i also respect the rules here so i avoid using bad words. Some people really are offended by that and there are alot of minors that are members of the site. If you really have the urge to discuss something innapropriate or swear alot then just ask the person if they have a facebook and message them on there lol.

lmao are you serious!? curse words haha the video wasnt even insulting anyone. how are cuss words randomly said offensive? ive saw that video and if anyone that knows all these different types of curse words. obviously love cussing. so why dont yal all get yourselves some vagisil and relax jesus christ! ohhhhhhhhh noooo i offended someone! immmm so sorry!!!! im crying right now i feel so bad.

Who are you to claim your sense of humor to be best?

Granted i consider my sense of humor to be rather vulgar/pervy/sick/twisted but like i said, if you want that kinda stuff then go to facebook. This is a family friendly site and the owners intend to keep it that way. Or just find a forum for people with that kinda humor. (Im sure it exists...)

Im not sure what you think vagisil is supposed to be used for, or how you may use it, but i have a male reproductive system so it really wouldnt be of use to me. Im pretty much un-offensible, but nice try. :gj:

Well yea you mean the quarantine room? I saw that part but even that has rules. If you REALLY want it to be a free for all then use FB or somewhere else. That was my point. Why do you feel such a strong urge to do it on bp.net?

Yes, i ment infractions but im sure u already know i obviously made a mistake. If u dont see my point fine, but there are alot of others on here who do. The vid that i posted was IMO funny AND reptile related. Why u got your infractions i dont know, or care. I know ive had beef with deb in the past and evena few other mods (even jerry and hes not a mod lol). I do tend to swear, sometimes i dont even realize i do it so i prob would just hand out in the quarrentine room just for that reason. Any one that has ever bought a snake or met me in real life knows i am a genuine and good guy, because i swear doesnt make me a bad person at all, once again thats my opinion. If u feel like its just an adult acting like a kid, so be it.

As far as your request, I just don't see it fitting into what this particular forum is all about.
I see no reason for one not to exist though, there is numerous reptile related "adult themed" Facebook groups already in existence.

Just so you're aware, the QT Room will still smilie-censor foul language. Also, you can still get infractions for using it in there.

it's not that we don't have a bad sense of humor because i thought the video was funny maybe others did too, but the mods didn't. you been here since '08 you should be aware of the rules by now.

since theres alot of young kids on here, what if they saw the video and decided to show their parents how funny it was and then the parents told them they couldn't use bp.net because of the things that are posted?

Bottom line the staff has decided that nothing over PG13 will be allowed. We the staff work very hard to try a provided an enviroment where people of all ages and backgrounds can come and enjoy meeting others with a like interest in reptile's. If at any time we the staff feel that the rules in place don't suit the direction we would like to see the site going, we will change them to reflect such. As such and untill further notice there is no need in the eyes of the staff or the admin to include a sub-forum where Adult rated content can run free. If any members feel like they need that type of content to get fufilling experience from an internet forum I'm sure there are ones out there whice allow this.

Thank you for the suggestion, we like and encourage our members to makes these sugestions to us as it helps us to continue to offer a site that the membership as a whole can find entertaining and informative.

The first thing i posted was that i deserved the infraction. I know how long ive been on here. Im sure even some of the mods thought it was funny, i was just trying to find a place on BP.net to post the vid, since it was bp related, I have breed ball pythons for 4 years but i still found the video creative and hilarious and felt like other people who needed a laugh should have a shot at checking it out.

This... Even the quarantine room is not a free-for-all and you still have to abide by the site's ToS, and you'll still get infractions for cursing and other violations. This site is a family-friendly forum for people of all ages, take it or leave it. You agreed not to post profanity when you created your account. If this particular forum doesn't fit what you're looking for in terms of the rules, then I'm sure you can find one that does, or you can start your own.

This ^ X2. Also qt room is not a free for all. You still wouldn't have been able to post that video in there without getting in trouble.

While I didn't even watch the video as my connection is too slow to bother with vids, plus the issue was dealt with. I agree that these rules are needed. While I am not highly religious I still do not like to see blasphemy as one person did maybe on page 1 (I'm on my phone and its teious to go look exactly where)

There are all sorts of different people here with one common interest - ball pythons and reptiles in general and the site aims to keep everyone happy and unoffended. So to exclude swearing is a minor inconvenience in order to respect those who do not wish to see it.

I'd like to point out that the QT room is not "useless" simply because it's not a free-for-all 18+ sort of environment. It's where people can talk about hot-button issues like religion or politics...where folks can rant about idiocy in Craigslist ads or YouTube vids...where folks can bicker and argue among themselves without their messes littering up the public forums. Our standard rules are slightly relaxed in there....if a curse word happens to slip out in normal conversation or an argument, you won't get dinged for it. If a thread spirals out of control with over-the-top cursing and/or name-calling, then a staff member may step in and tell folks to cool it...THEN you'll get infracted for cursing in QT.

But still, videos full of curse words are NOT allowed there, even though the rules for basic conversation are somewhat relaxed. If you would need to label a video NSFW (not safe for work) then it is not appropriate for BP.net.

It's not a matter of what I personally find offensive OR what I find to be humorous. It's a matter of keeping the entire site appropriate for members of all ages, and keeping it a place where parents can feel safe allowing their kids to browse.

There are places all over the Internet where one can engage in 18+ activities and conversations. And it's not even that difficult or expensive to simply make your own place that will suit all your needs and wants perfectly. Create a reptile-centered forum with absolutely no censorship or content-related rules. It might be a big hit. In the meantime, BP.net will continue to do what it does, in the manner that we've chosen to do it. It's worked out well for us, so far.
