    Awwwwwwww......!!!

I can't wait to get ours! I've found two local breeders that have a few to choose from. I've just got to get the settup all done, first!

Awesome! You'll love the little guy/girl. I thought it was really funny that mine puffed his beard out when I zoomed in on him in the 2nd pic, LOL.

I'm so excited! I just want to dash to the petstore and buy the first tank and lights and stuff I see...but I know I could save some $$$ if I take a little bit of time to shop around. I'll probably start with a 20gal long and buy him a new, full-sized home after we've moved later this summer. (And then I'll have the empty tank for something else........LOL)

Hey Judy, I know a little show in Birmingham where you could find something to bring home ... ;)

If so, I hope Alan's there. They had a lot more colubrids than boids at the show and Alan's were the best looking balls for sure. Of course, that may not apply on any other show date, but you won't be fooled into buying some lesser-quality ball. :)

You got that right! LOL That's one purchase I will be very particular about. If I do buy at a show, I'm hoping it'll be something arranged in advance with a breeder that I've been in contact with prior to the show. But either way, I'll be extremely careful and won't fall for the "bargain balls."

(I think this thread took a turn away from the beardies! LOL)

Heh heh. Bargain balls. But the beardies are neat too. I'll bet Austin is going to enjoy his beardie. They're entertaining to watch and that's a good thing in a kid's pet, to stimulate them to stay interested.

Right now he is in a 10 gallon tank, but I will be upgrading him soon to a 20 gallon long.

How big do normal Beardies get to be? And where can I find a detailed caresheet?

Click on the "Lizard Care" link on the left side of the window, under "Caresheets" and that will take you to a list of links to various care sheets, incuding a very good one for beardies.

Here's another great link for beardie care:
    Beautiful Dragons

They can be anywhere from 16"-24" nose to tail-tip when fully grown. Males are usually bigger than females.
