Whats the deal with poo?
I've had my 6 month old normal for a month or so, He's taken 5 mice and shed once.
Temps/Humidity good, He's 334 grams.
There's no poo.
A friend said all I'll be seeing is little white things the size of a pencil eraser, but I saw a thread on here with pictures of big ol turds.
Such an awesome topic, can someone tell me about poo?

Re: Whats the deal with poo?
Young ball pythons do not poop very often. Their bodies absorb a lot of the nutrients from their meals. I have had my little male normal for a few weeks now and still have not seen any poop, but he sure does pee a lot and produce urates. This is all perfectly normal.

Eat. Excrete. Rinse, lather, repeat.
That's the deal with poo.
:P

Babies tend to absorb most of what they eat. I wouldn't worry to much, they will poop when they are ready. They big poo I had on here was from a male that is now 2062 grams, (I weighed him shortly after that :D).

Re: Whats the deal with poo?
Im glad my girls don't do those..yet. I had to clean out a pretty big one this morning from a hide.I think Sphinx was trying to taunt me by laying on part of it so I would get her out and hold her at 3:30 this morning :snake:. I had one of my girls urate all over my neck and on my laptop(luckily I had just shut it),and another one do it to my son,he was pretty pissy about it. "MOM! That is so disgusting, now we have to wash the blanket, and my sock" Hehe, the mind of a 5 year old :D,but he still loves Carmen, thats his baby, and shes most comfortable laying next to him watching Spongebob
-
My pic is the poo of a 3000 gram 10 egg laying beauty, I will clean up after her all year long anytime she wants as long as she keeps popping out those pretty white eggs with those pretty snakes inside.

I know this 3 am routine, make me wonder if they know we will take them out for a few if they make themselves extra yukky..

Re: Whats the deal with poo?
Heh yea, Phoenix was laying underneath part of her rock(it has a lip that sticks out,but she cant fit underneath the whole rock, just the lip)early this morning and a bit ago.Darn girls are so goofy sometimes.I need to upload a picture of Carmen watching Rio with my son.

Wow, I was just about to reply how it took our baby ball a long time to produce her first "poo"- but after seeing those pictures, Im so baffled & stunned, I can barely type :O
It did take several weeks- probably 5 or 6 maybe more before she went. But she was real young and we think under fed. but once she went, I would say she goes about every 2 weeks now.
Good luck- and I hope I never see a "poo" that large in our tank.. Good lord, it looks like the size I clean up from our Doberman!!

Ok, so we can all rest easy, Papa Clyde is fine.
Pulled him out yesterday to hang out and watch some TV and in his hide, found these little gems!
We have poo!

 No it wasn't in the manual was it!
This isn't even my largest snake, but she eats like there's going to be no tomorrow, lol.
September, October and November is our feed up time for females, they eat, and eat and eat to get ready for breeding season.
The results are....yukky :P

 Yes she's a keeper.
Wouldn't surprise me if she hits 3500 grams before I pair her this next season :)
